Getting a flu shot is your best bet. Washing your hands certainly helps as well.

You should have a flu vaccination every year. Besides that take vitamin c, keep your fluids right up and eat healthily to help your body fight off any infection, not just the flu bug, that it comes into contact with.

get the flu vaccine and also take Echinea, when you feel any sort of symptoms

Flu is highly contagious, and apparently the one that's going round is even more so, being a combination of H5N1 and human strains. Only those working in emergency and vital services will be given the jabs, which are now being secretly given.

I agree with whoever said Echinacea, I took it for years and never caught so much as a cold then, last year I forgot and got the most awful attack of flu ever. Coincidence? Maybe but I know what I'll be doing this year. The flu vaccine is great if they get the right one but it is all a guessing game. Each year a different strain of flu goes around and it is the pharmaceutical companies job to work out which one they need to protect us from. They need to know well in advance of the flu starting which one they need so it really is an informed guess. When they get it wrong people assume the jab hasn't worked, it's not that at all it's just the wrong strain. Get the echinacea and start it now, wash your hands regularly and, perhaps, get the flu jab.

Its pretty much down to luck though.

Good Luck

You can prevent the spread of any disease or 'bug' by washing your hands often using warm water and soap. I can't stress this enough as I still see too many people who don't do this. It's important for everyone's well being. Now as in 'flu bug' do you mean the coughing/body aches flu or the stomach flu? Because there are vaccinations against the flu but no vaccination yet available for the stomach flu. My trick is washing my hands, especially before touching any part of my face (eyes, inner ear, nose and mouth) as well as before eating.. to protect yourself from those who don't. Carrying hand sanitizer is also a convenient option. Good luck!

Its true, when they was a malaria and also flue epidemic, the professors nad scientists did actually get vaccinations. So its a litlte liek, forget about the rest of the population so long as the "highly intelligent" are spared, idiots.

I believe that a boost to your immune system is the best thing to do, some people take echinacea (not sure of spelling) but can only be taken for a few weeks at a time. However my family and I have not had a cold or flu for 3 years!! and I swear this is down to our morning juice, which is a fresh orange with added cranberries and blueberries (fresh or frozen) a splash of pure grape juice and pommegranate juice (make sure they are 100% juice ones)
I sometimes feel a cold coming on and then take extra vitamin C and zinc, fingers crossed I havent suffered for ages !!

vitamins.my dads a believe in garlic,and he"s 86.
