If that 1 bacteria reproduces and is resistant to the spray then the next time the spray is sprayed more are likely to survive. it says 99.9 percent because they can guarantee that it will kill ALL of the Bactria in that one area... if they said 100% they might have been sued allot because of some dirt and Bactria |

i think that they actually test every bacteria and it kills all of them but since we don't really know every little bacteria they cant assume it kills everything.
its like testing a medicine, it might have worked on everybody they tested on(100%) but they can't assume it will work for the whole population. |

because if you make such a statement and are proved wrong as bacteria are always evolving then you could be sued for misrepresentation. That's why the expression -'kills all known germs -' is used on one advert. |

I think it's because there are some bacteria which aren't common in nature and hard to cultivate and would therefore not be cost effective in testing these products. It's that 0.01% which you are so unlikely to come across in your domestic lifestyle that make them unnecessary for testing. Though, if you did, I'm almost certain that the 0.01% will kill you. |

because they aren't targeted for instance to kill bacteria that lives on the seabed in one square mile of pacific ocean. You just aren't going to come into contact with every type of bacteria. Plus there are bacteria that haven't been discovered etc.
Also, you need some bacteria. For instance harmless skin flora stops pathogenic bacteria gaining space on your skin. |
