Does anyone know an estimate of the number of cases of infectious diarrhoea in UK every year.?

stop talking a load of crap

Little Minx
Yuck- what a horrible question this is.

In England and Wales, there are approximately 15,000 cases each year

mighty boosh
i dont know but i do know diarrhoea is hereditary

its something that runs in the jeans!!!!

loads, if not millions.

It has to be tens of thousands...;

The short answer is "NO" and the reason is because in a social setting such as a family household or within a workplace statistics are not gathered.
It is only in settings such as hospitals or nursing homes or in the case of an epidemic that such facts are correlated and stats can be produced.
However, in the years April to April 2005 - 2006 it was stated that there were 200 cases of unsourced infectious diarrhoea within nursing homes for the elderly in England and Wales (Scotland produces it's own stats) and 150 cases within NHS hospitals.
In total over 5000 people were affected including both staff and patients/residents.
Hope this helps.
