No news is good news. And even if they do call you it might be just to assure you everything's okay |
|

hi!girl

usualy if they don't call it's because everything is fine....if you are concerned just give them a call in the morning and they will tell you. |

You probably have nothing to worry about because its been almost a wk and usually they will call within a few days after your papsmear. I was the exact same way with my first papsmear but everything turned out fine and they mailed me mine. Usually they will call if its abnormal but mail it if its not. Try not to worry. |

IT takes 3 to 4 weeks to get the results and its usually in the mail. If its nothing life threatening they just mail you the results. |

Call them. When they get on the phone, you say, "I have been waiting for the results of my test, can you please get those results for me?" If they say hold on.. You say, "What? Hold on? I have been waiting forever and a DAY. I paid for the tests, I wanna know if I passed!"
If they say, "Come in we need to talk" you can get worried. That means your pap was crap. If they say, "It looks good, we will let you know if there are any problems." You know you got a good test. |

They will let you know right away if anything should be abnormal....usually they don't call....may send you a report in the mail...if there is nothing wrong. These are routine...so you don't need to worry...but after a few days you can always call and ask the nurse at the office....she will tell you the results to ease your mind. It is a good practice to get these every year...but usually you won't have any problems. |
|

I know a lil' bit about that

It's been a significant amount of time passed. No news is good news. You would have been notified normally in three days if something was wrong. Even if the doctor was unsure, he would have called for a follow-up by now. I think you can rest easy. |

Ive never had that exam done, But i know it takes about 3 days before you receive test results, and usually if they are abnormal the Doctor will contact you immediately after receiving them. |

Never had an abnormal result, but it depends on the doctor on how long it takes. Usually between 2-3 weeks. Some call only if there is a problem, some send letters either way. I wouldn't worry too much about it, unless you feel like you've put yourself at risk, you'll probably be ok. They will call if have a common infection (yeast or bacterial) but those are easily cured. |
