Extremely TIRED!!?
I get about 5-7 hours of sleep a night and every single day im so exhausted that as soon as my head hits the pillow, im out. During the day at work I can hardly keep my eyes open and it's very difficult. Its not just in the morning, it continues all day. Anyone have any suggestions for me to prevent myself from being so tired all the time? Or maybe what's causing it? Even when I sleep in (8-10 hours of sleep) I still feel this way.

And no, im not pregnant. :)

Maybe you are depressed? If so, talk to a doctor or therapist.

rick d
Could be a number of things. depression is one of the possibilities. You should go to the doctor. People here may tell you a bunch of things, but no one will tell you what it is for sure.

I go through this too. I think we may need to me more active.

sandy
try taking naps during the day. that usually helps me. like when you get out of work go straight to bed close the curtains so its dark and take an hour nap. that should help out a bit, if not then maybe you should talk to your doctor about it

Maybe your diet isn't giving you enough energy. Carbohydrates is a very good source of energy.

you might be suffering from sleep apnea.. I would talk to your doctor and see if he can get you into a sleep study to find out if that's the problem.. What sleep apnea is, is that when you sleep your throat relaxes to the point it can almost collapse and makes it hard to breath.. Your not able to get into deep sleep, the kind you need to really rest..

Tim's DD
Your diet could play a big role in your energy level. Try cutting out sugar...

Or you're not breathing right while you sleep... that causes you not to get deep restful sleep making you tired the next day...

try to exercise ! i know it sounds funny but when u exercise it will eventually boost your energy level ! also try to get on a normal sleep patern go to bed bout the same time ! if nothing else talk to your doctor. some people have a sleep disorder and even though u think ur asleep your body may not be geting the rest it needs ! (if tat makes sense) ! good luck ! i also dont sleep much ! bout 3 to 4 hours a night but i am used to it and exercise a lot . i play pool so practice, practice, practice !!!!!

naturalblondebbw_28
get your thyroid check. That could be the problem. good luck

mariailia
u have to increase ur sleeping time, but for a normal person 7 hours of sleep is enough, i think u must visit a doctor, because feeling sleepy might be because of other reasons rather than sleeping hours, exhausetd body means that u r not having a right nutritional diet which ends in feeling tired, check it with specialist

You could be sleeping right now! (Stress can do that to me.)

Hi. I used to feel that way. My problem is that I am anemic. Taking iron daily has helped a lot. I also got on a vitamin regimen and I'm eating a lot healthier, so I feel more refreshed in the morning, instead of like you do now. Talk to your doctor. They'll be able to suggest if you're not getting enough of something in your diet that could be causing you to constantly feel fatigue.

BadBoy
Stress can cause that. Try using Omega oils, especially 3 & 5, which relieves stress. Try to drink black coffee in the morning.

thesoapgoatsoapshop
Do you exercise?
It might also be the foods you eat.
Also, do you spend any time outside? If you're lacking Vitamin D (sunlight) this could make you extremely tired.
If where you work is filled with florescent lights, this could contribute to your tiredness too.
When you have lunch, even if its a cloudy day (Vitamin D gets though the clouds), sit outside for at least 20 mins.
Going to the tanning beds 1-2 times a week helps too.
Changing your house light bulbs to daylight light bulbs helps.
Changing your diet to more fruits and veggies helps.
Ask your Dr. about what vitamins to take.
Getting sunlight helps.
Going for walks or to the gym 3-4x a week helps.

I always find that when its cloudy and I don't go outside, I feel soooooo tired that I could sleep 24-7.

morgan
go to your doctor and get his/her opinion you mite need a sleep aid like a pill to make you go 2 sleep and wake up refreshed. that should do you wonders!!

You could have CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) Do you toss and turn during the night? Do you ever feel achy? Those could also signal fibromyalgia. If neither apply, maybe taking some vitamins would help.

My dreams are my sanity
Vitamin B-12 seems to do the trick ,,, also check for anemia

I am having the same problem right now and no I am not pregnant either!! Do you feel that you sleep well at night? My husband a few years ago had that problem and had a very hard time waking up in the morning and extremely tired. He had sleep apnea. Do you snore or catch yourself short of breath waking up . Are you able to dream? These are signs if sleep apnea

Of course it's best to see a doctor if this is bothering you a lot, they'll be able to check for and rule out, or in, obvious things, like anaemia, etc with a blood test.

gone!
EVERY PERSON WHO ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION HAS A VALID POINT AND SOME HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS, WHAT IT ALL COMES DOWN TO IS ... YOU REALLY SHOULD SEE A DOCTOR ABOUT THIS. YOU COULD HAVE A MULTITUDE OF SYMPTOMS AND THEY ALL SOUND LIKE A LOT OF ILLNESSES SOME COULD BE SEVERE OTHERS NOT MUCH TO WORRY ABOUT. DON'T TRY TO DIAGNOSE YOURSELF, SEE YOUR DOCTOR. BUT FIRST MAKE A LIST OF EVERYTHING THAT'S GOING ON WITH YOU, PHYSICALLY, AND MENTALLY, NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT MAY SOUND. BE HONEST AND YOU'LL GET RESULTS. HAVE SOME BLOOD TESTS DONE, AND DON'T GIVE UP TIL YOU KNOW WHATS GOING ON.

HOPE THIS HELPS

HoneyB
I have that problem sometimes. If possible, start going to bed a lil earlier. And during the day, I would say to eat breakfast in the morning, take Vitamin C, and do some type of activity that keeps you moving so you're not sluggish during the day. At least this is what I do. Hope everything works out!

elana1987
You may have fatigue...there is such a condition. I would go to your doctor's. I believe there are medications to help with the exhaustion, but you would need for them to be prescribed to you. Good luck! :-)

tearsofthemoon00
Try a Magnisium supplement.I dont know why,but it helps me.Have you charted yourself to see if there is a pattern to your tiredness?

Have you tried taking a good multi-vitamin? Or maybe you just need to just take some time off and let your mind rest.

Trying taking a B-12 pill or supplement when you wake up in the morning! Its used for energy and to decrease fatigue! Also, try getting just one or two more hours of sleep at night.. that may help more then you think!

It could be that you are not getting the REM sleep. I had the same problem. I was "sleeping" for 7-8 hours but because I was such a light sleeper and every little thing would wake me up, my body was never getting into the REM patterns (which is when your body actually "refreshes" itself!) If you dont get that REM then you will ALWAYS be tired!!

The doctor put me on Rozerum to help me sleep more "deeply" and I really havent had much trouble since (except for the fact that my KIDS wake me up before I'm ready! LOL)

Good luck and Sweet Dreams!! :)

In regards to your last post... exercising WILL help chronic fatigue. It sounds a bit weird that the MORE you do, the LESS tired you will feel, but for some reason it is TRUE! Try starting out SLOW... perhaps walk 1/2 hour each day for about a week, then add 15 minutes each week until you start feeling better. What it does is give you better circulation in both blood and air flow.. and that in turn helps you not feel so fatigued!! Plus after a good walk, you will sleep more soundly! Good luck and I hope you start feeling more AWAKE soon!!
