I am taking Lisinopril eversince my pulse is super high.?
I started to take Lisinopril 3 weeks ago for high blood pressure it working very good ,however my pulse is 80-85 just laying down if I vaccum let's say it goes up to 125 I afraid to go anywhere.Maybe my body needs more time to adjust?

Move on
Lisinopril !!! That sh*t will kill you. Haven't you read the reports. Doctors have been dismissing the reports because of the Pharmaceutical company but it's bad. For High blood pressure cut out salt, add onions and exercise. Don't take drugs. Drugs are for dopes.

It should lower your pulse rate as well as your blood pressure. Check in with your doctor. Something else may be going on as well.

LabGrrl
Talk to your doctor, but it's probably nothing. If you're not feeling shaky, it's not a problem. Normal resting pulse is usually between 70-75. 80-85 is not super high.

Were you on Beta Blockers before you got the ACE inhibitor? Beta Blockers reduce your heart rate (my propanolol cuts my resting to heart rate to 52) and a change from a beta blocker to an ACE inhibitor might feel really severe.

Check with your doctor.

see your doctor, he may have to supplement toprol with the lisinopril.

You need to get more exercise - daily. That will help with your blood pressure and calm your heart down. Also, stop drinking caffeine.

I was on high blood pressure meds for 30 years - I started exercising daily and now my bp is normal (even low sometimes), I no longer take bp meds and my pulse rate is almost always on the slow side.

Leeward side
`you need to call the doctor who prescribed it and ask if you should stop taking it. There ae other, cheaper drugsyou can try, like hydrochlorothiazide.

i take it as well for high blood pressure, but my heart rate has always been alittle on the high side(80-110} and still is, this med works good for me my bp is usualy 110/70 or so, but i am not very active physicaly, i do have ocd and anxiety so of course this does make my heart beat higher at times(when having a panic attack or stressing of course) iv asked doctors many many times over the years and they didnt seem to concerend, i would call doc and ask if some light exercise could help, could just be stress and anxiety...good luck..ive been taking it for 2yrs now..

Lisa
call your doc, that doesn't sound right

Roger M
let your doctor know

that is not normal and is unhealthy

bpsgirl123
This happened to me too. My doctor took me off the stuff because my heart was racing so fast. He put me on Verapamil and that helped too. That plus exercise and eating very healthy ( I worked with a dietitian for 2 years) made my blood pressure go down so I didn't need as much medication. I still need some, but my dosage is lower than it was when I first started. You need to tell your doctor about your racing heartbeat, he can change your medication. And if he doesn't, see someone else. Good Luck, get off that stuff as soon as possible, it's not doing you any good.

Your pulse or your blood pressure? Blood pressure should be around 120-140 over 70-80. Your pulse depends on whether you are active or at rest and if you are athletic or unconditioned. Lisinopril starts out at 10 mg and may also contain HCTZ to reduce swelling.

If you are dizzy and need reassurance make a doctor's appointment!

Check your BP when you heart rate goes up.
