I had braces! I got them off a year ago exactly! I still wear my retainer. Unless you want crooked teeth it is best 2 wear it. You do wear it 4 the rest of your life! Unless you choose not 2! |

Eh it depends how crooked your teeth were. I've had my braces off for a good 3 years (at least) and if I don't wear my top retainer for a night, I can feel the gap between my front two teeth opening again. If I skip two nights, I can start to see it. But my bottom teeth are fine without a retainer. |

Funny. I had an appliance first, which is like a retainer, when I was about 8, then braces when I was 16. I never got a retainer. My bottom teeth did move back a little, but the tops look good. Braced are alot of money, and make your teeth look beautiful. I would suggest that if they give you a retained...use it. No point having crooked teeth again. |

You wear it all day and night for 6 months and then just at night for a looooooong time. |

Yep. It happened to my husband and my sister. Wear it for however long your orthodontist says and be religious about it. You won't have to wear it for life though. |

nope b/c i used to wear mine and then kept forgetting and its been about 5 yrs and my teeth are still perfectly straight..i dont know if its different for everybody but mine stayed straight |
