It is true that you can drink anything but that you should follow it up with water or with brushing to wash sugar away from the surface of your teeth after finishing the beverage. If you are not going to be able to brush or rinse with water afterward I would stick with water. One of the worst things that you can do for your teeth is sip a sugary drink over a long period of time. By doing this you increase the contact time between the sugar from the drink and the bacteria on your teeth. This leads to a very high rate of decay in your mouth. That is why you should brush or at the very least rinse after finishing eating or drinking.
Juices and lemonade are often fairly acidic and will lead to your teeth decaying as well so follow the same guidelines.
You can always call your dentist or orthodontist to clarify what they mean. You are paying for their knowledge and skill so you might as well take advantage of it. |

you can drink anything you want to as long as you brush for a long time and clean you're teeth very well because I have braces also and my orthodontist says I can drink anything I want too! Hope I helped and good luck! |

You should drink drinks with less sugar in them thank soda, so like water is ok and I'm pretty sure the others listed are ok too. |

LEMONADE AND JUCIE SHOULD BE OKAY.
BUT UHHM... I DONT THINK COFFEEE WOULD BE GOOD BECAUSE COFFE CHANGES YOUR TEETH COLORS |

I wouldn't drink coffee... coffee stains your teeth but where the braces are covering on each tooth wouldn't be stained. I can only imagine how that would look when they are taken off. dark teeth with light squares in the middle. lol |

I have been having braces for 3 years now and I hate them. I drink almost everything but coffee will leave stains on your teeth and so will tea but I do drink tea. The best thing they have you can drink is water. |

It's been years since I had braces, but I was told to stay away from dark sodas, like Coke, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper because they can stain your teeth if you dont' brush properly and leave white spots on your teeth where the brackets are. I imagine if you drink gatorade and then brushed your teeth, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. |

That is fine. Just rinse with water after drinking sugary drinks and brush 3 times per day, 5 minutes each time. |

Gatorade isn't good for your teeth. It has nothing to do with braces. |
