Does brushing your teeth really make your teeth whiter?
or does it only keep teeth from becoming even more yellow?
ive always wondered what would happen if you stopped brushing...

well if you stop brushing, your teeth will rott out. My husband grew up in a broken home where noone made him or helped him brush his teeth and as an adutl he is paying for it. He has extreme problems with his teeth and gums, and all could have been prevented by brushing to some extreme!

And yes toothpaste with baking soda whitens your teeth!

Doc...
Well, brushing your teeth efficiently keeps them in healthy condition. By no means one can say that brushing makes your teeth white. Brushing with a soft bristtle tooth brush with proper brushing strokes keeps them clean, free from plaque, calculus and other debris thus reducing chances of tooth decay.
If you stop brushing, must tell you, you yourself wont be able to survive with that bad mouth odor called halitosis and you wont allow anyone to stand near you either. It will cause extreme tooth decay which will lead to infection eventually.
You can make your teeth look whiter using whitening strips or go to a dentist. Really gonna help.

That's why we have "whitening" toothpaste

Not really. There's no such thing as a "whitening toothpaste". It just keeps your teeth from getting any grosser.

Aussie
No not really.Just by avoiding coffee and things that stain your teeth a lot can help keep them looking whiter.

The fluoride is supposed to whiten teeth. Baking soda is good, also Herbal aloe gel will brighten and help the gums. Xango juice is great for the gums.

I'm 27 years old and had 2 tiny cavaties that didn't even need to be numbed to be filled. I typically only brush once a day but I brush with a good motorized toothbrush for at least 5-7 minutes maybe even more.

Not only are my teeth straight they're also white and people always compliment me on my smile.

Be sure to brush regularly and if you need additional whitening I've found Oral B white strips and crest white strips work best.

If you stop brushing your teeth no only with your teeth be more yellow from plaque build up, your breath will stink.

If you stopped brushing, you would have nasty breath, even yellower teeth and cavities and much more

Yes, it can keep your teeth whiter. Brushing keeps the plaque from building up so badly. Plaque causes your teeth to have the yellow color.

It more keeps them from becoming yellow, because you are keeping them clean..a lot of the time people are just lucky to have whiter teeth than others but things such as smoking, red wine, tea, coffee and dark food can stain your teeth. I really would not consider stopping brushing your teeth, no one will want to speak to you!!!!
