No. You can't get cancer from just one cigar. Cancer from smoking is something that builds up after time. |

Not right now. But if you continue doing that then..... |

surely you aren't serious... I am thinking you mean cigar.. which most people don't even inhale but rather puff and no you won't get lung cancer from just that
but from a mother point of view Don't be smoking your too young .. you have the rest of your life for that. Worry about school and a good job then you can buy all the cigars you want and the kids too busy doing it now and not studying won't be able to afford them!! |

You can get cancer by a single molecule of the cancer producing part of a cigarette. I suggest that you quit completely, don't try to act cool because dying of cancer is not worth smoking for. Just be extra careful from now on, eat a balanced diet, get some exercise and take part in sports more and smoke nothing. |

One cigar not likely but the danger comes from the start of a very unhealthy habit. Nicotine is very addictive, as bad as heroin or cocaine. Once your hooked it is tough to quite & this will give you cancer & not just lung cancer. There are poisonous toxins in all tobbacco that will distroy your body. They have just come out with a warning boys who smoke will hinder their growth. That these boys were generally shorter then their peers. You are at a crossroads. Where you can still decided, throw caution to the wind & take your chances or put an end to it now. You have to decided if impressing your friends is worth your life.Be smart son. |

From such trivial use, probably not. But you now know enough about the bad effects to avoid doing it again. |

If you start this at the age of 14 no one can save you.
You are most prone to get Cancer and if not cancer you would certainly be awarded by some other equally painful diseases. |

Yes!! Don't do it again. Go play ball or ride your skateboard. Have fun!!!
If you keep it up, you may not have the chance to ever do those things. Don't start smoking, do start running around enjoying your childhood. Good luck!! |

While you may not get cancer now or soon. You have no idea about what may happen down the road. I started smoking home made corn cob pipes that grandad made made when I was about 7 or 8. (Only every now and and then and only when I visited in the summertime) I was smoking cigars and cigarettes off and on by 12. In 1983 I quit smoking cigarettes. I was doing 3-5 packs of Pall Malls a day. Plus cigars and an occasional pipe. Now at almost 50 even though I haven't smoked much in years my lungs are very sensitive. Second hand smoke, cleaning chemicals and even opening a pack of Kool Aid can give me coughing fits. I have two benign tumors in one lung (non cancerous) so I have to have a CAT scan every 6 months to keep an eye on them. And I am allergic to the CAT scan dye on top of it all. I am on Advair twice a day and have to carry an inhaler with me every where. I just had a breathing test done and failed miserable. So it's just better if you don't start, cause you just don't know whats going to happen years later. I remember 14 believe it or not, (more or less) thought I was invincible, that I would live forever. And its OK to think that to a point, all my boys did too. But it's easier to start healthy now and not have the regrets and problems when you're my age. Enjoy your teenage years but do so safely. Good Luck |
