what do you think?
i have just read somewhere that diet coke can cause it and i drink 2-3 a day! aghhhh
please help

well if thats true about coke, then probably its the coke

mr stabby
The best thing to do would be to ask a friend to slice your head open and have a look inside, just to set your mind at rest.

I'm a Oncologist at the Oncology department at Musgrove Park Hospital and if you went to A&E they should of taken an X-Ray, MRI or CT scan, So no I do not think you have a brain tumour. It could be Anything ranging from the Common Cold to the Flu, if the problem is consistent simply report back to your GP and seek advise.
Also I do not know why you are asking strangers to give a a diagnoses on a health problem it is crazy to think that, you should seek advice from a health professional.

What makes you think it is a brain tumour? Some scientists suggest that aspartame (sweetener) used in diet coke could be linked to brain tumours; nothing has been proven though. Your symptoms could be any number of things. If you are genuinely concerned, book an appointment to see your doctor and discuss how you are feeling.

noo u dont my best friend had a brain tumor. the symptons are totally different. dont worry. go to the doctor anwyays you're probably just a bit sick

Helena T
no no no

you should of stayed at the hospital and got checked, but i don't think you have a Brain tumour, it could well be stress related and the amount of coke is not good for you either.

James F
I very much doubt you have a brain tumour, i suggest painkillers for the moment and if its the same for the next few days go to the hospital and explain everything, my friend had something similar and the doctor didn't do anything but the hospital can give you really strong antibiotics .

i remember reading that artificial sweetener can cause these symptoms, especially since you drink that much.Maybe you should decrease your consumption of diet coke and see if the symptoms disappear.

dont worry hun, brain tumours are extreemly rare, and even if you do the treatment for them is advancing rapidly. go to the doctors ASAP.
tell them your symptons and your fears. they will act acordingly. also go to your opticians regularly, they are often the FIRST to spot a brain tumour. if the doctors suspect anything is wrong with your brain they will order you to go to a MRI- magnetic resonance imaging, or CAT,

what you most likely have are migrane headaches. which can often be brought on by the caffine in cola

how often do you get these turns? other symptoms? time of day?

You may have an allergy, My wife gets severe migraines if she eats white bread. Not sure about the diet coke though. Best to keep a record of what you eat and drink, every day and on the days you get headaches try to eliminate some of those foods on other days to find which one you might be allergic to. Allergies don't always show in the form of a rash or vomiting. I think it could be white bread myself.

I wouldn't diagnose yourself with something so serious just yet.
You really shouldn't have left the doctors, he may have been able to help you.

I think you should try and cut down on your Diet Coke intake, I think the reason that Coke causes such symptoms is because of the Aspartame in it.
I could be wrong, though.

Anyway, I really think you should go back to the doctor and tell them about the symptoms you've been having.

Good luck.

Could well be the coke so reduce consumption and if the problem continues then I suggest you re-visit the hospital and ask for a scan.

Sounds like migraine - so go see your doctor.

Pains in your head can be caused by many different things. Dehydration (are you drinking enough water, or drinking too many caffinated products?), congestion, a cold, lack of or too much sleep, the list goes on and on. It's unlikely that you have a tumour, don't stress about it.

Start by looking at your daily routine and diet. Do you get enough sleep? You need 6-8 hours of regular sleep. Going to bed at the same time every day is almost as important as the number of hours you get. Do you eat well, have plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, don't skip meals to try and diet, and drink plenty of water. Drinks like coffee and coke are pretty bad for us, even though most people drink loads of them. You don't have to cut them out all-together, just cut down the amount you have. You'll feel healthier, less anxious and you'll LOOK healthier too.

Chances are, these pains are caused by a combination of the above. Relax and look after yourself - give it a couple of weeks and you'll feel great. If you still have concerns, go back to your doctor and tell them your worries, but I really think you'll feel better if you take my advice. Take it easy, and don't stress- it'll just make you feel worse.

Ms Minger
It is very, very unlikely to be a brain tumour because in actual fact, these are very very rare (most GPs will only see one once every 10 years).

However, you do need to be checked over. Go back to the hospital and wait to be seen, it will put your mind at rest if nothing else.

(PS: headaches are not a primary symptom of brain tumours).

Aspartame in diet coke can cause stress related symptoms that you describe, but generally not a brain tumour.

There have been many problems associated with Aspartame, have a look at http://www.aspartame.info/, and just google it for more info.
