Malic Acid Uses Malic acid is a medicine used to clean and get the surface of a tooth ready before it is filled. It can also be used to peel the skin (usually the face) and to treat muscle or bone pain. Store medicine away from heat and direct light. Do not store your medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in other damp places. Side Effects Stop taking your medicine right away and talk to your doctor if you have any of the following side effects.
