Because you need to see a chiropractor.

You need to see a doctor. It could be anything from problems with you spine, to sore muscles, or just that you bend over too much (example, snow shoveling or weeding). But asking a doctor is always the best thing to do, he or she can tell you how to fix it or if anything is seriously wrong. I hope you feel better soon :)

It's most likely due to weak lower back and/or abdominal muscles. It is very important to maintain a strong core so aches and pains during day-to-day activities are avoided. Try strengthening your core to see if the pain goes away, if it continues see a physician.

Maybe you pulled a muscle. Slouch around for awhile until your back doesn't feel so tense anymore. Or get a Chinese Massage. ;)

Back pain can be caused from a myriad of things. Normally, though it is caused by bending over like a crane, and allowing all the torque and force to pull on your back muscles, which most people have the "Out of sight, out of mind" complex for, which means you don't strengthen your back muscles because you never recognize that your back is an integral part of movement until you hurt yourself.

If it doesn't feel too bad when you normally move, but bending and/or twisting to the left or right causes a good deal of discomfort, then you most likely have tight hamstring and knee joints. Stretching, and bending your knees when you want to pick something up off will help greatly.

Good Test: Try to place your hands on the ground palms down next to your feet without bending your legs. Can't get them close? You have extremely tight muscles/ligaments/tendons which will pull your body just a little so your equilibrium is out of whack.

If it hurts a lot or all the time, then make an appointment with your doctor, as you may have a bulging disc, herniated disc, or something more serious.

Overweight can sometimes do that. Go get a massage or take a relaxing bath.

Some swear by chiropractors others do not. I wonder if you could go see an Osteopath instead? What ever you do I would take great great caution in letting anyone ever operate on your spine. However, I doubt you need some extreme measures as surgery.... You probably just need exercise or an adjustment. Do your research. One more thing I probably would not let anyone adust your neck area.... Try a look up on Osteopaths versus chiropractors.... yahoo.com
