am i showing signs of depression?
im always tired, as a matter of fact i went to bed at 12 last night and woke up at 4 this afternoon. i eat a lot at night. these food usually consist of fatty, sweet foods such as ice cream of friend foods. i don't eat in the morning unless im going to school. im not working as hard at school work as i did before. i barely take interest in english which is my best and favorite subject. i've been getting angry and frustrated easier than before. i've been single since july and haven't had any guys interested in me. could this be getting to me or should i see a doctor?

I have had depression for the last 20 years and it apparently runs in my family so I am familiar with the issue. By reading your basic symptoms.............low energy, low interest, withdrawal and a desire to sleep a majority of the time, it does sound as though you might be experiencing some symptoms. However, don't be discouraged or fearful as depression can be effectively treated. The key is to see your doctor, be totally honest about how you are feeling and if you have had any thoughts of harming yourself please be upfront and totally honest with the doctor or your parents about how you feel and especially if you have thought about suicide or harming yourself etc. You are not crazy or going crazy, depression is usually situational (divorce, loss, disappointment, situational etc.) Also, you could be experiencing the after effects of an overlaod of glucose (sugars) from the foods you are eating. When you eat sweets and high sugar content foods, you will always experience a low from the metabolisation (breakdown and absorbtion) of the sugars that are contained in sweet foods etc). Get an examination from your Dr. and tell him your concerns and he will run a glucose test and tell you how to deal with the condition if you do indeed have it. If it is depression then he will prescribe an anti depressant and you will be back to normal in a very short time. Best Wishes!

Always being tired doesnt always have to do with depression.. I have Iron deficiency anemia, which makes me tired from the moment i wake up, to the min i go to bed. if the guy thing is an issue, then thats pretty sad. Cause guys shouldnt be the only reason that can make you happy.. go to a doctor, you need help

Hi there, Yes. You are showing typical signs of Depression hunny. Personally, I found that with my Depression, only Anti Depressants helped. You may find you go through several until you find 'The One'. Things one can do to help with Depression.... Other things you could do are simple things like making sure you get plenty of sleep. A nice cup of hot cocoa made with milk can naturally make you tired. Drink plenty of water throughout the day and if you are like me and don't like water, drink flavoured water. Develop a positive attitude. Look at yourself in the mirror and repeat to yourself "I am a good person", "I can beat my Depression", "It doesn't own me". Make sure you look good every time you go out. For example, wear make-up (FeMale) or style your hair (Male). Anything to show you've made an effort. Have a shower first thing in the morning to liven yourself up. Try using Original Source Mint & Tea Tree shower gel. It feels icy and zingy all over your body and certainly makes you have a spring in your step. The perfect wake-up call for when you're feeling tired and sluggish in the morning. Great if you're not particularly a morning person. Get plenty of hugs. Hugs make you feel good. It shows love. Giving and receiving. Do something for somebody... Even if it is giving your change to charity. You know like if you have Β£5.24.. Give the 24p to the charity box. Think about seeing a Chiropractor. Your back may be out of line and you don't even know it. It does wonders for your posture and lifts your mood immensely. Manic Depression (Bi-Polar Depression). Chronic Depression (Dysthymia). Atypical Depression. Postpartum Depression. Seasonal Depression (S.A.D). Psychotic Depression. But general symptoms of Depression are.. Fatigue or loss of energy almost every day. Feelings of worthlessness or guilt almost every day. Impaired concentration, indecisiveness. Insomnia or Hypersomnia (excessive sleeping) almost every day. Markedly diminished interest or pleasure in almost all activities nearly every day (called anhedonia, this symptom can be indicated by reports from significant others). Psychomotor agitation or retardation (restlessness or being slowed down). Recurring thoughts of death or suicide (not just fearing death). Significant weight loss or gain (a change of more than 5% of body weight in a month). Take care. Lin. xXx

go to a doctor a therapist i go to one and a lot of people do not because they are depressed because it feels good to talk to someone you should try it they teach you a lot of good things
