Can you be allergic to whisky?
I've been drinking whisky pretty much every weekend since October. I usually drink Wiser's or Canadian Club. I've never had any problems but the last two times I've drank it, the skin on my chest, neck, and shoulders gets red and kinda blotchy. Sometimes I can see it a little bit on my forehead, and even on my stomach a bit too. Can an allergic reaction like this just pop up out of nowhere? This is depressing.

Mad Mama
Yes, you can certainly be allergic to whiskey, and you can develop and allergy at any time. What you are describing certainly sounds like an allergic reaction. My ex-husband developed an allergy to Corona Beer after drinking it for years. He developed a rash - just like you are describing, and his hand swelled up and his throat swelled shut. It was VERY scary. He could have died but the people at the hospital did a great job and gave him medication to stop the reaction. You should stop drinking whisky immediately and find something else to drink. Allergies can get worse every time you are exposed to the offending substance, so this can be very dangerous.
