Would wearing sunglasses while driving at night have any effects on my driving?
if so, how much effect will it have? do many people do it? what will happen if i do? will i get pulled over?

Reminds me of that song in the 1980's.

I wear my sunglasses at night...

why do u even want to wear a sunglass at night????

The sunglasses won't make the lights of oncoming vehicles any less blinding, and any dark areas will look even darker. There is absolutely no intelligent reason to intentionally increase the risk of getting into an accident.

I liked that song in the 80's.......seriously, I'm going to assume that you have night blindness.....which is common for drivers who have passed thier peak.....go to the sporting goods department in Wal-Mart or something similiar depending on your area and they usually carry "shades" that block all uv rays and cut down on glares...and blah, blah, blah....when you put them on everything becomes much sharper and clear....sometimes these can be found in very light colors such as yellow or pink, not really like your typical sunglasses....shop around....other than that I would seriously discourage the use of darker shades as this is much too dangerous...have someone else drive you at night or schedule all your activities in the daytime....peace!!

it won't have any effects on your driving not much people do it because you'll look STUPID if you wear sunglasses at night...

Dark Angel
i wouldn't recommend it, it will make it harder to see where your going and what is in front of you, what if some kids wearing dark colours was on the road, you are less likely to see them and will probably hit the poor kid, granted he shouldn't have been on the road anyway but you get my point.
there is no need to do so, so please dont

No Name
Not only driving... it's just... when you wear sunglasses at night, you can spoil your view. So it's not good for your eyes. You can end by being blind.

you will most likely crash into something before anyone pulls you over.
And it looks stupid to wear sunglasses at night.

You will driving like in DARK SPACE!

not many people do it. It can be a form of reckless driving if you happen to be involved in an accident. It has a lot of effect on your ability to see. Headlights at night only illuminate approximately 10% of what we can normally see through the day.... darkening that seems dangerous...

As so far as the physical part of you driving... You will not see obstacles as quickly or as accurately as someone without sunglasses. Whether its a stopsign in the distance, a cardboard box on the ground, or wildlife in the road.

Obstructing your vision of the road, to the best of my PD knowledge, is a misdemeanor offense.... but still means you get summonsed to court if not arrested, fines legal fees....

Hitting an object, like a vehicle you didn't see pulling out of a side street.... felony homocide..... your freedom... your life... your loved one's peace of mind....

Thats not a risk I'm willing to take, and I hope you consider your safety and the safety of others before you embark on your next journey.
