Why cant i lose weight?
ive been trying to lose weight for over a year now. I watch what i eat completely, and i exercise 5 days a week, but i still cant seem to lose any weight. i also cant tan, my skin is not able to tan, medically.. do you know any reasons why icant lose weight? please help.. being a year into this and not losing any weight is frustrating : [ any suggestions .. if this happened to you or someone you know? it would mean the world to me if we could figure out the problem. : ]

Eat lots of fruit and veggies, less meat, etc. I have lost 45 pounds in the last 3 months doing that.

Well, a Thyroid problem maybe? Then again any vitamin deficiency will cause the body to overbalance itself. The only diet that ever worked for me is the high protein diet.

Try to get more information on dieting, weight loss articles, health and fitness articles, weight loss forum and BMI calculator at my profile and get the advise from them to lose weight fast and healthy.

you might just have a low motabilisum, see a doctor aabout it thewy'll have the best advice.

try calculating ur body mass index ( BMI ) , here is the formula:
BMI = ( Weight in Pounds / ( Height in inches ) x ( Height in inches ) ) x 703
then see your results:
18.5 or less Underweight
18.5 to 24.99 Normal Weight
25 to 29.99 Overweight
30 to 34.99 Obesity (Class 1)
35 to 39.99 Obesity (Class 2)
40 or greater Morbid Obesity

as always weight loss, is something thats difficult to answer, but heres my secret, only when i started to c fitness as a "health risk", i lost weight, and it was easy to maintain it as i didnt realy care about it from the first place..and think honestly do u cheat or not :P

You may want to get your Thyroid checked, as well as being checked for insulin resistance.

Make sure that you are changing up you exercises. Lets say ever day you exercise all you do is run so for a while you will start to loose weight but after a while your body is so used to doing that you wont loose anymore weight so you have to do different things. And when you start something new don't go full out ease into it. GOOD LUCK :)

Remember nomatter what happens to treat your body with respect and don't starve it or overwork it with excersize. Have you tried a tan from a bottle? Most of them have minreal oils and moisterizers which make your skin glow, unlike the sun which wrinkles it and drys it out. Also theres cancer and permanant damage. I've found it a good idea to break a sweat at least once a day with excorsize and include a lot of fresh veggies and fruits, and lean meat without grease and crisco. Replace soda and energy drinks with minreal water and drink them when you feel hungry but know you've had enough to eat.
Also you can try visiting a nutritiononalist and getting a membership at the gym.

you need to see a doctor... I had a similar problem with losing weight and have had to take some pills as I have a metabolism issue, I train 3 times a week run every day and still no results, I saw my doctor and a month later I am seeing a huge difference.

well u have to eat healthy, u hav to lose waaaaaay more calories than what u ate. try eating salad (without that much cheese, dressing, ranch, and especially those crunchy things.)

It's also probably sense ur a girl and its harder for girls to lose weight than it does for guys. (it's true look it up)

If your exercizing regularly, then keep in mind the muscle weighs twice as much as fat. If you replace a gram of fat with a gram of muscle, it will weigh more. Don't judge your progress by how much you weigh, but by your waistline.

I am going through the same thing but i am very slowly very slowly losing wight the meds I'm on make my skin White and pack on the ponds but in the last year i have lost 15lb the trick is stay achieve but you cant burn fat if you pales is over 140 when it goes over 140 beets per Minuit your making muscle not burning fat the little secret was given to me buy my physiotherapist so she knows what shes talking about the important thing is don't get discouraged a lushly walk wearing wights will burn fat more efficiently than a run and if you wont to track it use the bike at the gym and monitor your hart for 20 Minuit's then move on to mussel building but light exercise first to lose fat

When was the last time you had your Thyroid checked? It's a simple test that doctors should do with every physical or weight problem. It is becoming common in this country with women over a certain age.

Also, take a look at what you drink too; no sodas (holds on to fat and elevates sugar level), limit alcohol (very fattening), drink pure water--at least 8 glasses a day, especially before and after a work out.

Try drinking more water. Also, instead of just working out 5 times a week, try working up to something, like doing a triathalon. Try to cut out almost all sweets as well. It might seem hard at first, but as soon as the benefits kick in, it'll be worth it. =)

I would go to your medical doctor for a physical. If everything is OK, try a personal trainer. I had that problem too but once I tried something different like working with a trainer, the weight came off so easily. I just needed to change my habits.

ok yea i am having trouble losing weight too and it is hard, but my mom goes to wait watchers and they really help her she has lost A LOT of weight so maybe try eating the food they have their, do a lot of excersining like run 2 miles every day and eat healthy all the time, dont treat yourself to a nice snack here and there if it is not healthy

If you have continued the same diet for a whole year, you need to shock your matabilism. It happened to me a few years ago after i had my daughter, I ate healthy exercised 6 days a week, nothing. At first i lost 10 lbs but after that nothing. You have to remember that you are gaining muscle when working out. Eat bad for a couple days, not mcdonalds every meal but put some grease in your diet for a few days to shock your matabilism it will work!

I would go make a Dr.'s Apt.

Wow a whole year... So you watch what you eat... Well you may be cutting calories.. but not the right ones..

Try to do more exercise..

You should talk to your doctor,maybe you have a Thyroid problem.

sounds stupid, but you may not be eating enough. I ate more on weight watchers than I did before I started it. I lost 40 pounds eating a ton of food. I asked the same question and she told me your body shuts down when you dont eat enough.

you may need your Thyroid checked.

There could be a problem with your Thyroid. Talk to your doc about this.

You probably don't have any fat to lose, thats the only problem I can think of!
Also, you could always ask your doctor next time you see him/her

Maybe you have Thyroid problems. It could be something very minor, but it wouldn't hurt to get it checked out. The Thyroid plays a part in your metabolism.

Simple - your not overweight. You don't need to lose weight.
