Im going on a 400 calorie diet, what are some low calorie snacks I can have?
I have a vegetable mix which is 30 calories a cup.
And I have a 1/4 cup of strawberries every hour (1 cup = 53 calories).
And occasionally I'll have a peach (50 calories)
So, anyone know any low cal foods?

i used to do those back to school i need to loose weight diets. don't do one of those fast diets! you don't want to lose it fast, once you get down to that weight and return to your natural eating habits you'll gain more than you lost. how about 3 pounds a week. i lost ten pounds during the school year, and by the end everyone was like ahah remember when you used to be fat.

this is not healthy. you need to eat at least 1500 calories a day. w/ only 400 calories a day, your body will go into starvation mode and it will try to store all the fat it can b/c it won't know when it will get it's next meal.
you should start jogging everyday, and do sit ups. eat a halthy diet, especially a good breakfast to kickstart your metabolism for the day.

400 Calories is not healthy, instead of trying to take the easy way out aka: Starving yourself and not getting enough nutrition, why don't you go to a gym or run 5 miles a day,Swim,Jog etc. and eat healthy but right.

I have learned you can honestly eat what you want and still look good if you work out and burn the calories vs: starving yourself which causes long term problems even though it gives you quick results,for a short period of time,when you start eating normal again you'll just gain it back.

Don't do this...you will lose weight if your intake is 1500 calories a day along with exercise. My neighbor did something crazy like this and she now has to walk around with a heart monitor, because it gave her heart palpitations. It made her really sick. Don't do this to yourself...it's not worth it. Also, you can't eat like this forever and as soon as you start eating again you'll gain all your weight back and then some, because your killing your metabolism.

You need to be eating at least 1000 to 2000 calories a day.
If your obsesssing over your weight like this then you can get anorexia.
Dont weigh yourself with a scale. Use your clothes as a way to tell your size if a pair of pants are loose on you then your losing weight. So dont forget to eat 3 meals a-day! :D

You need at least 1200 calories a day for your body to function. If you really want to lose weight fast, try running. Here's a cool program call from couch potato to 5k, which will have you running about 3 miles at the end of six weeks. You'll look leaner faster. Anyway, best of luck.



You will die. If you want to diet healthy then take the flat belly diet or weight watchers both of those things are tailored specifically to you...400 calories is a piece of yummy cake.

Not a good idea. If you eat too little calories, then your body will go into starvation mode. Then, after you start eating again, your body will keep the food stored as fat incase it gets starved again. This will only make you fatter and unhealthy. I would suggest doing about 1200 calories and then doing cardio to burn it off. Atleast that way you will get the nutrients that your body needs and still burn them pounds/fat. Good luck!

Going on a 400 cal diet is a bad idea. Plus if you only eat 400 calories your body thinks your starving and turns everything you eat into fat so you will just gain weight. P.S. not eating has the same effect.

Are you anorexic? Not trying to be mean, but it sounds like u are. I've had an ed for 15 years and honey it's not worth it! Not cool at all!!!!! I have a 5 year old son and have almost died 2x, I use to pass out all of the time at work and home with my little boy there,not knowing what happened to his mommy. Just eat healthy and exercise. lots of luck!!

For breakfast, special K cereal,
For lunch and diner, eat fruit, vegetables, and fish.
For just a snack, i would eat yo+ yogurt, because it also has Calcium and vitamins.
You can't survive on just fruit and vegetables alone, so eat some normal foods and just work out everyday. eat at least 1000 calorie's a day.

Your better off eating 1000 calories a day and working out... you will lose more, faster, than starving yourself. PLUS fruits turn to sugar in your system which is stored as fat in your body so eat veggies more than fruits! Breakfast kicks your metabolism up so make sure to have a good breakfast and dont eat after 7pm so you body has time to digest the days food before laying down. Working out is a key in weight loss, not just starving yourself. Good luck and be good to your body! :)

Iceberg lettuce and watermelon are both exceptionally low in calories.

Keep in mind, however, that diets this low in calories only work if done for VERY SHORT periods of time (e.g., no more than 3-5 days). After that, you risk trashing your metabolism, which is definitely NOT what you want to do.

Honey, that is way too few of calories. You will likely suffer from a lack of energy, dizzy spells, etc. You should eat at least 1,000 calories a day probably, depending on your size and how much exercise you get.

Low calorie foods:
most fruit and vegetables are pretty good

This is completely unhealthy. You need a balanced diet. You have no grains or protein in your diet. You will no lose fat you will lose muscle and when you start eating again you will put on more than you lost. You are also ruining you metabolism. You really need to rethink this.

Eat a healthy balanced diet and exercise and you will be much better off.

Sarah is right, you will mess up your metabolism. I would aim for 1000-1200 calories a day and exercise. Eat tuna and low-fat meats. Fruit is filling because of the fiber. Take a multi-vitamin like One-A Day to make sure you are getting all your nutrients.

You must consume 1200 calories per day minimum. Ideally, you should aim for at least 1500-1600 calories if you're trying to lose weight. Do not go on a 400 calorie diet. That's foolish and is going to do you more harm than good. Your body will go into starvation mode. That will make it nearly impossible to lose weight, and even if you manage to lose a couple of pounds, you will gain those back plus more when you start to eat normally again. Crash diets do not work. Eat mainly lean protein (fish, chicken, etc.) and lots of veggies & fruits. Get a minimum of 30-45 minutes of exercise per day. You will lose the weight in a healthy manner if you eat sensibly and exercise.

And, you know what? You will care when you land yourself in the hospital for malnutrition. You need to grow up and act responsibly. Trust me, you aren't going to be at all happy when you're laid up in the hospital receiving IV nourishment.

You have to eat more than 400 calories a day. You won't be able to keep that up, and when you get sick of it you're going to pig out and end up eating more than if you never started this diet. Aim for 1500 calories and eat health veggies and fruits, and soup is a good diet food.

Enough has been said about how 400 calories isn't enough.

Let's turn to what you do need to do if you want to lose 10 pounds.

First, visit your family doctor. Do not skip this step, even though you may think you have good reasons for doing so.

In addition to the obvious (she'll talk you out of doing something stupid), seeing your doctor will get you a plan to lose the weigh you need to lose. You doctor can fine tune a diet, exercise, and maybe even medication to you and your particular needs.

In other words, the chances of you losing the weight are greater than if you decide to starve.

As for your particular plan... why are you even bothering looking for snacks? If you're trying to get down to the 400 calorie range, you might as well decide not to eat anything. If it's that important, you don't need to snack. You can drink lots of water and take vitamin pills. Zero calories.

Not that I'd recommend this, but this particular plan is not much worse than the dangerous plan that you've concocted.

Update: I see you've added "shut up, idc if its unhealthy!" You don't care? How can that possibly be? People who say that need hospitalization. I know, because I nearly lost a sister to this sort of thing. However, if you're interested in offing yourself, I can't stop you. Just don't drag us into your suicide.
