That isnt true. HIV actually dies very quickly. I suggest you treat your wound with an antibiotic and see your doctor if you suspect it may be infected. You can take an HIV test in a couple months if youre worried. |

I assume you were wearing socks. "Borrowed" shoes and skates are supposed to be sprayed with a disinfectant each time they are returned. I know that this is only done about 25% of the time however. Although infection is within the realm of possibility, the possibility is EXTREMELY small. I don't think you have anything to worry about, but of course you will anyway. Go in and be tested, just to relieve your mind. |

there is a slight chance, although i think the worst that could happen is that you get an infection or a blister.
go to the doctor and get a checkup if your still concerned. |

I'd say it is like a million to one chance that even if somebody who did have aids wore it before you that you'd get it. But that is assuming that the person who wore it before you had AIDS.

No, you can't get it. HIV can't survive for months outside the human body, it's more like 20 minutes. It's not like you know for sure that someone with HIV bled into the shoe. If you're really that worried, put on a band-aid next time and wear socks, but you're fine. There's no chance you caught it. You'l be fine. If someone bled into the shoe, then I'm sure that the stadium people cleaned it or something. Good luck. |

the stadium was not at three degrees, it was probably at thirty. The heat of the skates would make it even warmer. HIV does not do well in the air. You would also have been wearing socks (as would anyone else who wore the skates. The blood would have to be wet. What you could get is Hepatitis because it can survive in the atmosphere and dry. Go get a blood test. |

if there is a possibility for blood contact then i would guess so if you are that worried make a doctors appt. an hiv test dosnt take but a few min! |

there is no way you could get aids from this --- in order to get aids 2 very unlikely things would have had to happen ...
a person with aids wore those exact skates AND
they cut themselves and blood went into the skate ( unlikely because they were probally wearing socks - which most people do and i doubt they could bleed THAT bad to where it would seep through the sock )
and im sure if there was anything in the skate such as blood or whatever else - you would have noticed ... so dont worry about! millions go ice skating everyday and ive never heard any crazy stories such as contacting aids or any other disease for that matter! |

A good rule to follow is "if it dried it died". HIV is very very fragile and simply cannot survive in the air. In addition when coming into contact with any blood or other bodily fluids there must be an entry site, you must have an open sore or other breakdown of the skin for the virus to enter. Even needle sticks actually carry a low risk of infection. Relax, you are in no danger. |

I think you are being paranoid. Not to be mean. I understand that you worry about these things, but if you did get it nothing can be done until it is proven. You should have yourself tested once in a while. But my guess would be you did not get aids from this. |

someone else who had HIV would have to have worn the same skates and would have had to had a cut on their foot and bled in them. |
