Sinus problems often Before or while sleeping, solution?
Often before I attempt to sleep my nose will either completely block up or shift blockage from left to right or right to left with a complete blockage during transition,
If I do any amount of physical exercise during the day it will be guaranteed to happen.
Any ideas on possible long term fixes or what I have in general?
I was formerly given a nasal pump and Amoxicillin
which didn't even reduce the timing or severity.

My husband used to do that very same thing...we had alot of dust mites we found out...they live in carpet...drapes...bedspreads...."pillows… ..... change your air return filter....wash all the bedroom linens in hot water...(or very warm) and try getting a hypo-allergenic pillow....we did and as long as i keep the dust under control he is fine...hope you feel better soon....

You should change your diet. Eat more vegtables and fruits. Drink apple cider every morning. And if you dont get good sleep due to sinus, you should try drinking camomile tea it really helps you to sleep. i used to have really bad sinus before but after doing all these it became alot better.

Hope it works for you

I have this problem fairly often during the winter months due to decreased humidity & not drinking enough water (summer months we tend to drink a lot more).

Try increasing the humidity in your house (a small water humidifier in your bedroom would help) & drink plenty of liquids throughout the day (non-caffeinated, since caffeine acts as a diuretic & will dry you out even more).

For immediate help, also try putting a small amount of mentholatum or Vick's Vapo-rub around your nostrils & upper lip. That will help open up the stuffiness. You'll probably need to blow your nose fairly soon after that. LOL

I have that and take 1/2 zyrtek at bedtime, and do the nasal wash in the daytime if I feel the sinus infection coming on. IT really helps, and the zyrtek also makes you drowsy. Works great. The only things that really helped me with the sinus infection was when my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need

distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.
best wishes
