It depends on how long you have had it and if it is .getting worse If both I think you should see your doc.Alternatively try steam inhalations.You could put Vicks in the water but it's not necessary the steam alone should loosen the phlegm.However if the problem continues see GP. cheers |

take cotrimoxazole adult strength,if it is available OTC there.1 tab each morn and eve. for 5 days. cetirizine and ambroxole cough syrups may be supplimentary. if no relief, consult physician. |

The reason you cough up phlegm is to get nasties out of your system.
Don't hold back, spit it out. At night, keep a makeshift spittoon by the be (a bucket?).
As my wife frequently says, "better out than in". Not sure what she means, though. |

i know it sounds disgusting but if the pleghm is either white/clear you will be okay if it is any other color it usually signals an infection and you should see a doctor. |

I was always told by my A-Level biology teacher to swallow as your stomach acid will get rid of any infection that may be there. but phlegm isn't uncommon. if you're coming doing with a cold it will be present, also if you're a smoker, its nearly always present |
