This method was successfully used in the trenches in WWI. It almost never fails - probably saved a few soldiers' lives:
Drink in one go, but don't chug, a large glass of water while blocking your ears. Obviously it's easier if you have someone else pour the water into your mouth while you block your ears with your fingers. The water should be drunk at a steady, even pace. |

Actually, I think hiccups are caused by the mind. They usually start from nervousness, stress or another problem. They might just happen randomly. But they eventually go away. Someone told me to think of me sitting on a chair or something without the hiccups, but I think that's kind of silly. And they do go away eventually, right? I think that's because when you get them, your mind doesn't focus on them the whole time. So they eventually go away when you forget about having them. Do you know when they go away right away? I don't. So I think that's it. Just try not to think about them. Or focus on something else and try to get your mind off of them. But if you really think chugging water helps, that might be why they go away. I'm no excpert though lolz. |

stand up take in a deep breath and hold it- while holding it bend over to waist level - then count to ten then slowly blow out the breath as you raise to a standing position- if done properly this will work everytime it stops the diaphram from spasming |

I use to try all sorts of things to make hiccups go away, and nothing EVER worked! But then, I started drinking water upside down every time I get them, and they ALWAYS go away! Try that. |

Hold your breath and swallow 3 times without hiccuping. If you hiccup before you swallow 3 times start over again. |

Drink from the other side of the cup.
Instead of drink and putting your head back, put your mouth on the other side of the cup...your bottom lip will be on the inside of the cup and drink slowly by bending forward/downward and sip slowly and swallow |

This will sound crazy but I swear it works for me. Gag yourself. It forces the air out of your stomach. |

Try to go to sleep, i know its gona be hard, but you wont have them in the morning. There is a muscle that seperates and supports your abdominal organs. Its called the diaphram. When you have hiccups, this muscle sets into spasm. |
