Any information on lung nodules?
I have a nodule on my lung that my doctor is following with chest x-rays. Any additonal suggestions or information would be helpful. Additional Details I am a 32 year old female living in the midwest. I was subjected to second hand smoke most of my life (my father smoked). I did socially smoke but when the nodule was discovered I stopped. The doctor has told me that I have a asymetrical nodule on the left lobe. I had a ct scan done 1 month ago and the nodule was located on the edge of the lobe near the middle of my body. They have ruled out infection but have informed me that I will be having repeat chest x-rays done every 2 months to monitor growth. I had one done yesterday and will get the results next week. Any info would be apprectiated!
drbob seems right on. in fact the nodule could be an encapsulation of some previous invasion. the body does that. when something foriegn enters the lung the body walls it off, if possible, creating a calcification or granulomatous nodule. on the other hand drbob seems right.
