Why do some people only get migraines/headaches at certain times of the year?
I have noticed that some people only get migraines during a certain season. It differs. I only get them in the summer time. I wonder why that is? Anyone else the same way? If so, what do you do when you get a migraine?
p.s. I also like to keep in shape, so when I get one I cant workout, it just makes it so much worse, especially in this smoldering heat! I find it impossible to go to the gym with migraine. What do you do when you have this problem?

pl see what suits you.
If you are in cold country use all warm things.
Pl try cold water bath and observe if in hot country, if pain increases use warm.
If you have cough/cold body hot water bath will help.
Massage and exercise in front of morning sun is good thing, pl try.
Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief.
If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture.

There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache/ringing, Stomach ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes.
None of them can be treated with medicine.
Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.

Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits like dates, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.

I suffer with frequent migraines and have to take beta-blockers daily, your body soon adjusts to the meds though and as the brain is ever evolving, the migraine pills don't have the effect they should after taking them for so long. My only advice is to watch out for the triggers - certain alcoholic drinks have nasty toxins which I find make it worse. Pinot grigio grape always triggers a migraine off, rose wine can too and definitely red wine. I feel my eyes start to feel strange before an attack so that is when i start the migraine relief - IMIGRAN or sumatriptan. You have to get it at the beginning if you can.

Changes in atmospheric pressure can cause migraines and these changes are more common at certain times of the year, depending upon where you live.
Also allergies from pollens can cause severe headaches and could be confused with migraine headaches.
Drink plenty of water during the day, especially in Summer, to avoid dehydration, which can cause or make headaches worse.

I have migraines way too often, so I think it might have to do with a person's triggers.

Some people might be affected my atmospheric pressure changes or allergies. If your's are in the summer, it might have to do with the sun. Bright lights can cause migraines too ..happens to me during some of those obnoxiously designed power point slides..yuck. It also might have to do with heat.

Yeah they screw up my workout regimens too...but I just count it as a loss for the one day. There's only so much you can do about it, you know? Plus, the activity makes it infinitely worse for me.

Depending on how your body reacts to the meds, pop 1-2 Advils (I've experimented, that works best for me, but everyone's migraine is different) at the onset of a migraine (if you see auras, do it then). You might be able to salvage the day =]

Hope this helped!
