How can I begin to heal and not let people get me down I'm trying to fix myself?

Additional Details
I dont believe in god.

only you have the power to affect your mood, if you choose to share that power, you become vulnerable.

The Optimist Creed

Promise Yourself,

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature you meet.

To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds.

To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

Avoid negative people. Surround yourself with positive family and friends. This may require a lifestyle change but it's worth it.

First of all ,know that there is nothing wrong with you. Also people that are getting you down probably need more fixing than you do.

get drunk

just take some time for yourself. over the weekend, just think, write, listen to music and isolate yourself from anyone that could bring you down--don't talk to anyone for that weekend. Just try and figure yourself out. Anything that is bothering you, write it down in a journal, think about your dreams and how you can achieve them. Doing just that and sorting out your mind, heart and soul will help you to heal.

you'll never get anywhere without Christ in your life.
a life full of hate and lack of faith will lead you down a path of darkness and leave you bitter.
have a nice life.

Hello. Don't let anyone get you down and take your personal power! (self- esteem) Surround yourself by positive people only and people who will be supportive of you in anything you want to do! A great way to heal is to get regular massages or energy work, such as polarity therapy. Reiki or Holistic touch. You can learn more about them if you google them on-line.
Also spend alot of time with you! Try maybe journaling and express anything you want. Research yourself and figure out who you truly are! You would be surprised at all the people that don't know themselves. Good luck dear!

Don't let them bother you... Ignore... Don't pay attention to what they say about you! If you ignore, they will stop... the more you pay attention to them, the more they will get you down coz they see that it affects you...

god can help

You don't believe in GOD? No wonder you cannot heal.
That's your real problem. GOD can heal you from anything.
HE did it for me and I know HE can and will do it for you. Just ask HIM!
Psalm 147:3: “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” God wants to heal us of all of our wounds.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit,” wrote David (Psalm 34:18, NIV

1. Recognize the pain and understand it is OK to hurt.
2. Seek the Healer. Seek God as your healer!
3. Reach out to others. As God has reached out to us, so we should be an instrument of God to reach out and help others who are in pain

When you sow seeds with others of love, compassion, kindness and reach others to help them, you will reap it in return

Just avoid or don't pay attention to people that are trying to bring you down. If you are doing something to better your life than go for it and ignore all the negative stuff.

Good luck.

You gotta stick with the positives, no matter how small, at first. Work up from simply setting better habits ; eating, sleeping, working. Work up from there to being more trustworthy and making//keeping friends. It will take work and time; add up the good things, even if you have to make a list starting with 1) Brushed my teeth!

Explain what you want fixed? If you are worried about people's words instead of what is right for you then go for it and see if the improvements will SHUT them off.

People make me feel like crap a lot but I know I just got to keep going on with my life. People are going to be insensitive alot and not care about it. What you have to do is focus on something you like or focus on something that won't make those situations feel bad. Don't let fools bring you down! Don't fix something that's not broken! Hope this helps.

Distance yourself from anyone that wont accept your changes you're making to yourself. People will put you into a mold that they think you fit in, they will treat you accordingly. If everyone you know does this, then maybe you should move where no one knows you, so that you can re-invent yourself and everyone will accept the new you.

Make sure you always have someone to talk to!

I am trying to do the same thing as you are, and so you can feel free to message me and we can exchange screen names or email addresses and talk about what's going on.

I think that talking to someone is the best way to realize exactly how wrong the people that put you down are, because the person you are talking to will give you ideas of what to do from a whole new perspective, since they are not wrapped up in the situation.

&& don't hesitate to cut the people that put you down out of your life! they are NOT your true friends!!!
Best of luck.

Stop hating ponies. They have done nothing wrong.

Well, if you're trying to fix yourself, we first have to figure out what exactly is wrong with you and why do you think it needs fixing?
I've learned that every person is different and what works for one person might not work for the other. However, if what people say gets you down, them I'm going to assume that it might be a self esteem problem.
I would suggest a work out. Both mental and physical. Your low self esteem usually has to do with a chemical imbalance in your brain. When you work out, you get a lot of good hormones (adrenaline being one) released into your body. You also purge your system of the bad ones and you feel more confident about yourself.
When what people say gets you down, that means that you're spending too much time thinking about what they've said. For this, I'd suggest a mental work out to keep your mind busy. Working out is something that keeps you busy. Also, you can concentrate yourself on any number of things like hobbies, sports, friends, boyfriends/girlfriends...
It's your journey, I'm just giving some travel tips. :)

Go for a run!

☺ . CIEL . ☺
hmmmm... you're a bit vague, but I'll take a shot at this anyway.

Anyone who is trying to keep you down is NOT a friend. Friends will not encourage you to do/say anything to hurt yourself or anyone else.

Misery loves company, and if you get "clean" or whatever, they won't have anyone to get drunk with or whatever. Their reasons for trying to keep you down are completely and utterly selfish.

What do you want to be doing in 5 years? 10 years? If it's something better than hanging out with a bunch of losers, you should stop all contact with them and surround yourself with people who want more out of life.

Best of everything!

OMG rainbows!
