Why do I feel like I am not in my body? I've been feeling weird for weeks now, Help!!?
I don't know how else to explain it. I have been feeling very weird the past couple of weeks. I don't have health insurance and cannot go to a doctor, so I thought maybe someone here could shed some light on this for me. I always feel a little sick to my stomach, kind of like I am about to throw up, but I never do. My head doesn't feel right either, I mean my thinking or something is off. Its almost like medicine head, you know the feeling like your head is floating above your body. I feel shaky all the time too. My concentration is not what it should be either. Sometimes its like I blink my eyes and I have a hard time opening them again, almost like time is going too slow. I feel almost drunk, but without the slurred speech and staggering walk. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? Im kind of scared, Im worried it might be something serious. Sometimes when I am watching tv, I look over at my hand and its almost like it isn't mine, like I can't really feel it unless I move it...I don't know what to make of all this. I know I must sound crazy, but I can assure you I am not. Any idea's? Thanks!

Btw-
I am not taking any medications right now besides the bcp, which I have been taking with no problems for the past 3 years. I do not use street drugs, and I only drink alcohol on occasion. I know I asked this already, but I didn't get any answers so I thought I'd try again with a different catagory.

I doubt I am depressed. I have a wonderful boyfriend, a great circle of friends and a supportive family. I have a decent job and money wise we are doing okay. I don't feel sad or unhappy about anything. I am a happy person actually!

It could be your sinuses or a sinus infection. Your sinuses can manifest some weird symptoms, such as:

Headache
Stuffy/Runny nose
Dizziness
Drowsiness
Slight Fever
Nausea/Stomach Upset (From post-nasal drip)
Teeth pain
Pain in nose/bridge of nose
Feeling like you have to sneeze but don't
Sneezing
Wheezing
Coughing

You can also have you symptoms, along with the above, if you're getting over influenza or a cold. Take this into consideration also.

Another possibility could be something that is lacking in your diet, such as a vitamin. Vitamin defiencies can bring on your symptoms and then some (depending on what vitamin), so evaluate your diet and make some changes if needed.

Make sure you get a consistent amount of sleep every night, and an amount that's right for you. If you are not getting enough sleep, this can give you that drunk feeling, as well as stomach upset. This is because your body is out of whack. Most people's amount sleep varies by age. For example, as you grow older, your body requires less sleep than when you were younger. You may need to decrease or increase the number of hours you're sleeping each night. Try to be consistent by getting up at the same time each day. It's okay to sleep in here and there, but if you maintain a proper balance, you'll be okay.

Do you drink coffee? If you drink more than one cup a day, this could also cause every symptom you have. Caffeine, especially when consumed in excess, can also produce anxiety and high blood pressure, as well as speed up your colon muscles, which make you go to the bathroom more.

These are some possible causes. I hope you feel better!

Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about. It was happening to me about 5 or 6 years ago. It is hormonal imbalance. To correct it, my doc put me on HRT (hormonal replacement therapy). It worked like a charm. It takes about 2 or 3 weeks to kick in.
