Yes, very badly and because its a cigar its worst then a cigarette one puff of a cigar is an average of 1-3 cigarettes. |

Umm Did you mean to ask if smoking cigars affects the lung? Because the liver is affected by alcohol not cigars. The Lung is usually not that affected by Cigars because they are not meant to be inhaled. Lung Cancer that's caused by smoke is usually from cigarette smoke. |

I have never heard of them damaging the liver. But all tobacco products carry some risk of problems... Just don't inhale and you will cut your risks. |

If you inhale, smoking can screw up your body, including a raised possibility for heart disease, but if you aren't inhaling, you can still get nicotine from the smoke absorbing in your mouth tissue.
I've never heard of smoking directly screwing up the liver though. |

Smoking cigars, while not good for you isn't nearly as bad as cigarettes, there are nowhere near the amount of chemicals in a good quality cigar as there are in cigarettes, also for anyone that knows about cigars, you don't inhale them, it's the flavor that you want not the smoke, also most cigar smokers only have one or two a day, they are not chain smoking like cigarettes, and at $8.00 and up for a good one you wouldn't want to. They can still give you cancer but your chances are decreased. |

The smoke from a cigar should not be inhaled. The nicotine is absorbed through the pallet in your mouth. Inhaling will obviously damage your lungs and other organs. Those "old guys" you speak of probably know how to smoke a cigar correctly and that is why they're doing well. The only concerns they should have are related to the health of the mouths. |
