What do contacts feel like when they're in your eyes?
are you aware of them or can you not feel them at all? And does it feel weird once you put it in the first time? Are you supposed to get used to it before it feels comfortable? thanks.

ive been wearing them for about 3 years. the disposable ones. theyre comfortable, but after about 6 or 7 hours they start to dry and my eyes get itchy. i use eye drops to make them wet if i need to wear them. they come in handy when u want to look nice and dont want to wear glasses, but glasses are much more comfortable.

I got used to mine within a couple of days. It just feels like a little pressure on the eye, that's all - no big deal. I was forgetting about them entirely within a week.

They feel fine at first you can kind of tell but not so much that its a distraction. Though after a while your eyes tend to feel like they are drying out. I have and astigmatism though so I'm not sure if that's part of it. I still cant wear them for more that 4hr and I have the special ones for astigmatism. My first time putting them in was horrible! It took me almost an hr.

once you get used to them, you cant really feel them - unless your eyes are dry or you have put them in the wrong way. your optometrist should be able to let you have a trial run before you commit to contacts.

You should feel a little something at first. If they're fitted right after a minute or two they shouldn't be noticable. I found that the ones that are to help with moisture are better.

You really don't feel them unless they get dirty or you put them on inside-out. Before you put them in, rinse them well. Anything from a small piece of lint to a hair that gets between the lens and the surface of your eye will feel like you're being stabbed in the eye.

I have contacts, and they don't feel like anything at all- it's like there's nothing there. When the eye doctor first puts them in for you, it's kind of strange- like putting in eye drops because the contacts are wet with the saline solution that cleans them. And it also feels strange because you can see for the first time in a long time without having anything on your face- at least, that's how it was for me. The contacts are comfortable pretty much as soon as you out them in.

when mine are in I can't feel them at all,It was a little wierd when i put them in the first couple of times but I got used to it quickly!

That one
I feel mines not at all. Of course, I am use to wearing them. The first time, some people have problems with them, but I plop mines in my eyes, make sure it is centered correctly. That's it.

You won't even know they are on your eyes, except if you wake up from a nap with them on. There is some wonderful contact-lens-fluid for rinsing, disinfecting, storing -- all in one, with a moisturizing effect. That's the best! I had my contacts in for up to 18 hours (awake) and it was ok, if I rinse them and re-insert in the evening. Its best for your eyes to have a break from them though, like just before bedtime, use your glasses while awake and blinking, and early in the morning too. My eyesight was way better WITH contacts than any of the best Rx glasses could be, but I kept glasses for winding down at night, and as emergency in case I travelled by car and wanted assurance I could drive back home again (even if the extremely rare chance of losing my lens), and for when I went camping. Camping with contacts was a challenge, because my hands and skin had insect repellant and sunscreen, and its hard to really clean your hands in the woods and handle contact lenses and fluids. I recommend to get contacts ! but keep your old glasses as a backup.

Yes, the first time you wear them, they are a little uncomfortable. However, when you wear them more often, you cannot feel them at all. When you put one in your eye, it sort of suction cups on to your pupil and centers itself. Sounds freaky, but it's totally fine. Oh, and keep them very clean, wash your hands before you put 'em on and all that, and throw them away when they expire. Good luck!

the first time it feels like there is a speck of dusk in your eyes. it takes a day or two to get used to it but once you do you hardly ever notice them.

Steph
I am totally not aware of them. They actually feel better since my eyes are naturally dry. And it always feels better to know that I can see perfectly without glasses.

It doesn't feel weird when you put them in, if you do then you can look up, down, (with your eyes only) and close your eye.

For me, it took about 4 or 5 days to feel completely normal.

catherine
you dont feel them at all. the first time i couldnt put them in my eyes, but you get the hang of it and theyre really just great.

Boo
you can't even feel them!!!! they're awesome!!
