I drink at least 6 diet sodas a day. Is this bad?
I typically drink anywhere from 4-8 diet Cherry Coke, diet Mountain Dew, or diet Dr. Pepper.

Is this too much?

Is it harmful? It's just colored, artificially flavored, caffeinated, and carbonated water right?

The sugar in sweetened sodas are not good for you. It could cause cancers.

Regular sodas and diet sodas both are not good. Take care of yourself.

Check out these findings from an eight year study at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

The study author, Sharon P. Fowler, states “What didn’t surprise us was that total soft drink use was linked to overweight and obesity. What was surprising was when we looked at people only drinking diet soft drinks, their risk of obesity was even higher.”

The artificial sweeteners and/or flavors in diet sodas also create a negative hormonal response in the body that increases fat storing hormone production and increases cravings for more sweets and refined carbohydrates in the time period after consuming the diet drink.

The best alternatives are good ole’ fashion water which you can dress up with lemon or unsweetened iced teas (ie. green, white, black, red). You’ll also get a healthy kick of antioxidants by going the tea route.

ever heard of WATER?! try it. People do not understand that water is the answer. It flushes out harmful toxins and lets us lose weight. But this world is full of all kinds of beverages. People tend to think water is yucky and flavor-less. well that is so wrong. Water tastes really good. If you drink it alot you will see the beauty. It makes ur skin glow and look healthy. it makes ur hair beautiful and shiny. It keeps our hearts pumpin.

Yes it is bad for you and it is harmful. It also has artificial sweeteners and those are more harmful. You should wing yourself off the soda's and start drinking more water.

That is to much soda daily to drink. Why not drink water,V8 (good cool drink) lemonade with artificial sweetener. A glass of chocolate milk. Cranberry juice. All these above are good for you.

Its horrible! Thats too much sugar, the fact that its Diet don't mean ****. Later in life you'll have lots of health problems if you keep this up.

yes soda in general is so bad for you its not even funny! Plus add all the chemicals because it's diet and you are drinking a carbonated toxic beverage. Don't drink soda (at least not that much). They've done studies and soda can dissolve an iron nail & eat the paint off of a car...if it does that...what is it doing to your body, not anything good i can tell you that much. soda=early retirement...and not to florida if you know what i mean.

ok diet sodas are still bad for you no matter what label a soda has its not good...The best thing to drink is water.
Diet sodas have been linked to cellulite increase so i dont know if you care to know that but yea they are not good.

Six is about five too many. The caffeine, if nothing else. Why don't you switch to water? It's cheaper, better for you, and hey, everyone should stay hydrated.

Diet drinks are fine. Caffeine withdraws can occur from as little as 200mg/day and your easily exceeding that at about 100mg per soda. But caffeine isnt dangerous and is nearly impossible to overdose on.


The artificial sweeteners aren't great for you and there are some theories that they may have a negative effect on insulin regulation and resistance.


But for the most part they are fine, thats alot of carbonated water though, swish with water often, and brush your teeth before bed. Brushing right after you drink just strips more enamel off.


The carbonic acid (carbonated water) isnt good for your teeth, I would switch to something not carbonated.
