You have got Stage 2 Hypertension.
Hypertension is sustained elevation of resting systolic BP (≥ 140 mm Hg), diastolic BP (≥ 90 mm Hg), or both. Hypertension with no known cause (primary; formerly, essential hypertension) is most common. Hypertension with an identified cause (secondary hypertension) is usually due to a renal disorder. Usually, no symptoms develop unless hypertension is severe or long-standing. Diagnosis is by sphygmomanometry. Tests may be done to determine cause, assess damage, and identify other cardiovascular risk factors. Treatment involves lifestyle changes and drugs, including diuretics, β - blockers, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers, and Ca channel blockers.
Please conduct microalbuminuria test to ascertain whether your kidney has been affected. High levels of the protein albumin in the urine signal the beginning of a condition called microalbuminuria, and are a typical finding of disorders such as diabetic nephropathy. The test may show whether you are at risk for developing kidney disease. You should also check your retina.
Consult your doctor.

Your blood pressure is slightly elevated. Do keep in mind that blood pressure fluctuates and several readings must be taken to determine your actual pressure.
If your pressure is always above 120/80 you have hypertension and need to be treated for it. The usual treatment is medication that lowers the pressure.
Hypertension requires treatment because if left untreated causes heart disease and other illnesses.

the ideal is 120/70 and may be allowed to creep up to 140/80 but anything over that is very BAD!

anything over 150/90 is considered serious.

stress make blood pressure higher as does high alcohol hig fat high salt intake.

Take an aspirin (it helps prevent blood clots) and make an emergency appointment with your doctor or go to a drop in centre IMMEDIATELY.

this high a figure could be the lead up to a cardiac event. and may require you being hospitalised

What's your age? It's really quite bad for a young person but OK if you're 50+. As you get older, your blood pressure get higher.

You can try to bring your blood pressure down by losing weight, if you're overweight, by reducing your salt intake and by using certain prescription drugs.

very bad.Get to a Doctor as soon as possible

very bad.

It is very hight, you need to see your GP asap.

Sounds like hypertension.

Not terrible, but certainly needs lowering. Other answers are helpful. Do go to see your GP and he will probably prescribe some BP reducing medication, possibly a 75mg daily dose of aspirin to keep the blood from clotting (if you are over 50) and should get you down to 120/70 or 130/80.

He might also suggest an atorvastatin to reduce your cholesterol level.

Do it now rather than have to face more serious consequences later.

Yes. Normal blood pressure is calculated to be, for an adult, 100+ your age/80. Doctors will be more concerned about the lower reading, which they refer to as the DIASTOLIC reading. This is the bp of the heart at rest. The higher this reading, the greater the chance of you developing heart disease or stroke. I think you should go and see your doctor, who will try to find out what is causing it and prescribe appropriate maedication or suggest a change in your diet (hypertension - the medical name for high bp - is usually linked to being overweight). another dietary change s/he may suggest is to lower your salt intake, as this is another common cause of high bp.

I think it is really bad. I suggest you test the pressure two more times .Then give a average figure.IF the number is above 160/100,you need treatment then.If it is over 140/90,it is hypertension medically. But if it is between 140/90--160/100 the you only need change your life style .You need more exercises and fruits. You need less butter or meat . If all of these can not reduce the pressure then go to the doctor.

that is in the 'danger zone''. you risk heart attack or a brain stroke. please seek medical attention, if possible under emergency conditions

It is related to your age. 107 is an alrming value. Keep it below 90. Dont give much concern for 155

Mindy B
yes. see your doctor asap to see what is causing it.

Dr. House
Even if I do not know your age I can tell you it is not good. You should see a cardiologist, exercise and have a medicine (probably a beta blocker) prescribed and follow a diet. If you take no action I would not spend much money on a new pair of Nikes if I were you.

yes it is bad. You have not given age. Ideally it should be 120 /80. 120 can goto upto 140 but 80 shoul dnot go beyond 90. Try medication , relaxing avoid oily and fatty food, do more walking. If it does not bring back BP, then show to good doctor and take proper treatment

When was it measured and by whom? I used to do physicals for health insurance companies...they considered 140/90 measured consistently as high blood pressure. The diastolic (lower reading) is of most concern since it measures the pressure against your artery walls when the heart is at rest, and yours is high. You should be consulting with a physician on this.
