Is it bad to drink 1 gallon of water everyday?
Just wondering because I heard that water clears up ur face and that it cleans you from the inside. I will really appreaciate all of your answers...GOD BLESS

no, your only suppose to drink a liter not a gallon
that could get you water poisoning
not sure about the ratio of body weight thing though

You only stated to "drink a gallon of water everyday"....If this continues without going pee-pee, then you have a major problem girl !!!

water is excellent but just be careful on the why on so much water..if for thirst visit your dr as that is one of the signs of diabeties.

No its good for you...

A gallon is a bit much, typically you need 1.5 litres which is 2.6 pints as well as the water you get from food. You would increase this if you are in a hot environment and sweating a lot maybe by adding another litre (2 pints) but a gallon may put a strain on your kidneys. Drinking water may clean your skin because the sweat will wash out your pores and that helps prevent spots.

HA, haha, hahahahahahaha!

I personally have found it really unpleasant trying to force myself to drink 8 glasses of water a day and am glad that there's some new evidence proving my hopes.

Sure, go ahead, drink up, just don't think it's a competition where the more you drink, the healthier you get.

recently, i saw a news report that said it was bad to drink lots of water, but personally i think that's a bunch of crap.....water is required for many bodily functions including removing toxins, clearing skin blemishes, regulating body temperature, carrying oxygen and nutrients to cells and cushioning joints just to name a few.....a good rule of thumb is to take your body weight divided by 2 and drink that many ounces of water each day.

No, it is very good for you to drink clean water & up to 8 litres/day is recommended for general good health. Keep it up & I bet you will look & feel great.

Water is excellent. Nice job on drinking that much water. Not bad at all! :)

Nope! I actually drank 3 gallons once! haha and Im stil here =]

no it is not "bad" but you shouldn't force yourself to drink that much if you don't feel like it. the "cleaning" part is just making you pee more often so it does flush your system. be careful not to drink too much water in a short period of time, it could actually dilute your blood-nutrient concentrations beyond a functional level; example: gallon of water in 3 minutes = death. if you are concerned about this, just research "water intoxication"

"The human body (as with other animals) maintains an equilibrium of electrolytes in the bloodstream as part of its normal operation. Sweating causes the body to lose salt, but the primary cause of hyponatremia is drinking enormous amounts of water, which dilutes the salt in the body to a dangerous level. As the electrolyte levels get dangerously out of balance, body systems begin to fail and the sufferer exhibits signs of crisis such as diarrhea, over-salivation, stupor, vomiting, muscle tremors, confusion, frequent urination and other general symptoms of illness, and their brain begins to swell. This swelling is called a 'brain edema' or 'cerebral edema' and can lead to brain damage, paralysis, and sometimes death."

Water is good, but be careful.

I've heard different answers on this topic, but one of them is to drink in proportion to your weight. Sorry, I don't have the exact ratio on hand, but perhaps the http://www.whfoods.com/ does. they have some good stuff. Also, macrobiotic people don't drink with meals because it dilutes the digestive juices.

no actually its good to drink a gallon of water everyday. just dont drink it all one time. spread it out throughout the day

God bless you as well! How you been?

Well, there IS a such thing as too much water. I dunno if a gallon is considered too much or not. Maybe you can ask your doctor?

But as far as the bladder goes, make sure you're going to be home all day when you have that gallon. It's good you're drinking water, or planning to. As to clear your inside, 6-8 glasses is enough. And it's one of the steps to help reduce the speed of signs of aging. How do I know? In an interview a few years ago, John Schneider was told he looked good for his age, and he mentioned drinking lots of water. It makes sense, as it plumps the skin.
