What are some natural things to help regulate blood sugar?
I don't like to take medicines,my blood sugar has been a little high,and I know there must be some natural things rather than RX. After all there haven't all ways been medicines. I do take Cinnamon everyday.

Sorry, but here is some reading that might interest you.
You should be monitoring your blood sugar levels when tiring to implement Herbal remedies. Not only can you blood sugars spike but they can also drop dangeriously low.
The only real thing to do is change your life style and diet to try to maintain as normal as possible blood sugar. Have herbs and supplements that do both lower as well as raise your blood sugar. Either to high or to low could trigger a heart attack or a stroke to a coma.

Working out is key, and dietary fiber also seems to play an important role in regulating blood sugar. Try to eat lots of beans, veggies, and whole grain products. Fruit, too.

People are talking a lot about two products made by two different companies. Diamaxol and Vitabase Blood Sugar Formula. They appear to work the same but the Vitabase product is cheaper I think.

I think that you already stated on the right direction. Many studies have indicated that cinnamon has been effective in lowering insulin levels. Some people take up to 2000 mg of cinnamon a day. Follow the cinnamon regimen and start making changes in your diet (more veggies, lean meats, whole grain etc). Try to eat every 2 to 3 hours this will help you from going either too high to low.

My mother has been a diabetic for 20 years, I have drwoned myself on all sorts of reading. I hope this helps.

These pranayam exercises will help control the diabetes and the side effects.Build up the timing gradually.If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume later.The benefits will be noticed in weeks as the sugar level is checked daily.Over the long tern the diabetes will be in full control and the medicine can be reduced in consultation with the doctor.
Anulom Vilom –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs.You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Also everyday press the centre point of the palm of your hand 40 times with the thumb and press the tips of all fingers 40 times each.

Yes, in the past there were no medicines for diabetes and people went blind, lost limbs, had kidney failure, had heart attack and stroke and died.

Have you been to a Diabetes Educator? Your local hospital or association for diabetes should run courses for newly diagnosed and borderline diabetes in which they will discuss diet, exercise etc. Increasing exercise and losing weight are well established ways to lower blood sugar and are usually the first things your doctor will suggest if the level is just borderline. Even if you are put on medication for blood sugar control, your doctor will want you to exercise, maintain a healthy weight and watch your diet. Be sure to have your A1c blood levels checked every three months to monitor the effect your exercise and diet have having. If blood sugar levels don't respond to diet and exercise, you may have no choice but to take medication.

Supplements like cinnamon are no substitute for losing weight and exercising. .
