The ones in the bathroom aren't too good. Buy them at the store and since it's the first time you're using them use regular or small ones. It's not really awkward, half of the world goes through it at some point.
There are directions on the box. :)

Use tampax it's easier to apply..maybe kind of tricky at first so you maybe need to try a couple for practice. Also stay calm because if your scared it will only tighten up your muscles making it maybe a bit more harder to insert.
Change your tampon every 7 hrs. And when inserted properly it should not feel uncomfortable or painful. In fact you shouldnt feel it at all. So make sure its inserted properly.
Tampax comes with instructions but im not sure if bathroom ones do..never tried..but probably not because im guessing they come individually.

Well, first let me say you should ask your mom. But if you don't plan on doing that, here I go... I started off with Playtex Gentle Glide when I was 15, and I still use those (I am now 22) I've never been able to use the cardboard ones. The plastic applicators are easiest I think, so try that. Good Luck and remember to change them often, 4-8 hours ok!!

well i think youll be fine. Try those tampaax pearl. They may not even sell some in the bathroom, because they dont want you in the water w your period. This happened to my sis and she did not have a good time. To be safe, bring your own tampons. The package will have instructions only thing I can tell you is change it every two hours, since you wil be in the water.

well..you would want to know that when the bloos starts soaking to the string it's time to take it out..and at the end of your period when it starts lightening up, just because you dont think it isn't soaked yet..still take it out because it is possible that by leaving a tampon in too long you can get TSS which is *someting* shock syndrome. i forgot what the 't' stands for and i dont feel like looking it up, but it can kill you.
get super in and brand that has plastic applicator and 360 degree coverage..it will say on the box. that means that when it is soaked it opens up fully(360 degrees) other then like butterfly wings so you get more coverage.
buy them at the store because the ones at the dispensers at bathrooms are regulars and dont have an applicator so you need to stick them up there with your finger. and it is just as embarrasing.
suck it up. it's life.

it's best to just buy them at the store
the box they come in should have instructions
i usually get playtex pearl
it's harder to use the bigger tampons if you've never used tampons before
but since you have a heavier flow you will want at least an average/medium size
never leave a tampon in longer than 4 hours
it basically clogs everything and it's not good to keep all of that "in there" haha
so make sure you change it every 4 hours or so
any other info you need should be on the box
have fun at the water park =]

well, i donno wher youre from but in australia we have a brand called U by Kotex and they make THE best tampons haha. It helps if you put one foot on the toilet seat while you insert it. Make sure you push it up as far as it goes, and if you can feel it or if it feels uncomfortable when its in, then you havent inserted it properly. If youve got a heavy flow, then make sure you read the box of the tampon to make sure it has the right absorbency levels. I've never bought a tampon from a machine in the bathroom, but I wouldnt because you dont know how long the tampons have been in there - if you feel uncomfortable about buying them at the shop then maybe ask your mum/aunt/a friend to get them for you.
hope i was of some help!
good luck

just ask your mom to buy you some. the ones in the bathrooms always suck. they aren't brand name or anything. it would be even worse for you if it's heavy. if you don't want to ask a parent, ask your friend to go but them & give them the money. your best friend should be nice enough to do it, she could always say they're for a friend.

well honey, first of all dont be scared to go to a shop and buy tampons! i work at a supermarket and nothing runs throuhg my head when they arre bought! so dont be embarassed.
all tampons too the same thing, with a heavy flow maybe just try regular.., dont worry they dont hurt.
read the instructions on how to put it in, very simple and basic but if not put in properly could be slightly uncomfortable..
remove when full, you know its full when you tug on the string lightly and it pulls a little..
if the tampon isn't full it cant become really orkward too pull out.
dont be scared! its not that bad, && you can enjoy the waterpark.
GOODLUCK :)

Honey, you really need to talk to your mom about this.
You really need to buy a box, all the instructions you need are in it.
Get ones with a plastic applicator. They will be the easiest to use. I like the Kotex brand personally.
You really need a family member or friend to talk with.

Being a first time user, you should buy a box of them from a store, inside you will find instructions on the proper usage of them and they have a few answers for you. I always buy UNSCENTED Playtex sport, super. Super because I also have a heavy flow, unscented because I find when ever I use scented I end up with a yeast infection which is a REAL pain! You will be just fine as long as you change them every few hours, don't feel weird or funny about purchasing them from a store, every woman has to, no big deal. Go and have yourself a wonderful time!!

You need to wear a Tampon regular but the ones in the machine are sometimes too small. Buy your own and wear a tampon and pad as well -- my mom would recommend 2 panties (I know old fashioned)
being in the water stops it but it continues (with force) after you're out and it's more like in a tub not just getting soaked.

Don't use the bathroom kind! Theyre made of cardboard usually and hurt to put it. Use Pearl tampons, for heavy flow. They have a special braid on the end that soaks up extra blood. If it hurts going in, it helps to rub a little Vaseline on the applicator.

it's alright sweetie! tough situation. I would definetly consider using a tampon called Playtex. DEFINETLY not cardboard. it's for all sports. and it's really good for everyone. But I hope you don't get it haha.
The ones from machines are usually always cardboard and it's so cheap that you half to buy a lot in order for you not to leak because its low in quality. So I would say just go get a small box from Wal-mart or something.
Have Fun

well when you first put them in, you have to relax, and they come with instructions aswell, so dnt worry about it, gets easier once you've used em a couple of times.
And yeah, just get them out of the machine, get them before you go so you dnt have to fuss about getting them when you've started ure period...
And i just read sum 1 sed something about them falling out in water - THEY DO NOT DO THAT! (sorry for the caps- lol)
And they also sed soemthing about getting ill, yes its possible, but if they are that unsafe then no one would use them right, so just aslong as you chnage it about every 4 hours you'll fine.
EDIT - you do get your period in water, being in water has nothing to do with getting your period or not.
