Some girls don't start their period til they are around 14 or even at age 16. It is normal for some to start at either age 14 or even 16.
I would also recommend talking to your mom to find out when she started her first period because that may give an indication of when you'll start your first period.

usually you get the boobs first, then comes the pubic hair, then your period. Don*t worry about it, my daughters have friends who didn*t start until they were freshmen or sophomores, perfectly natural.

there are a few factors involved when it comes to getting your period... I was 9 when I got mine and was furious that no one else did so be patient... your weight, biological make-up (ask your mom when she got hers), physical activity, and nutrition play major facotrs... aslo you just might not be ready hormonally ... take your time trust me there will be times when you are going to wish it would just go away because it is in the way of your plans... like attending prom...

It depends on the girl. It is often linked to genetics. How old was your mother when she first had hers?

Secret: you're not the only one who hasn't gotten it!
I remember I got my period at 11 and all my friends said they had theirs too. I thought I was young, but just assumed everyone else was ahead of me!
Years later I heard a couple of my friends talking about how they didn't get their periods until they were 14. I was like wait up....I thought you guys got it before me?!?
They didn't. Most of them lied lol. It's so funny. I have a feeling thats what's happening with you too...girls are lying. Even if they're carrying pads and tampons around that's probably only because they're prepared in case it does come.

Every woman is different so there is no way to predict when you will get your period. I didn't get mine until the end of 8th grade so I know how you feel.

Thank your lucky stars that you haven't started yet. It's a pain in the backside and once you get it, you'll believe me. Sometimes, how old a girl is when it starts is related to when her mum started. Have you talked to her about it? You might consider that.
Some girls don't start until as late as 16 or 17. I was a month shy of 14 and going into 9th grade by the time I got mine. Then I realized how nice it would have been had it not come for several more years! Don't worry about it. Your time will come. In the meantime, it's none of your girl friends business what's going on with your "female plumbing.'

You will get it soon enough. Trust me don't feel left out, feel lucky. having your period comes with a lot of side effects, like mood swings...cramps, sick feelings, the whole time you feel like crap. I promise you shouldn't feel left out, consider it a blessing. I have had mine since 4th grade. everyone gets theres eventually, and your will come when the time is right. =]

It feels important now, like a sign of maturity, but someday you'll wish you didn't have to deal with it any more.
Everyone is different and your system will start up when it's ready.

If you don't get it by age 16 then go see a doctor...
But any time before the age of 16, don't worry... You will get it eventually.
Don't freak...
Be glad that you don't have to deal with the BS!!

I didn't get mine until halfway through eighth grade. I know you feel left out, but you can just refrain from discussing it when your friends talk about it. Eventually they will change the subject, and eventually you will get your period.
