Normally that is a sign of gum disease. Have you been examined by a dentist lately? Do you brush and floss regularly?

It's possible that you don't brush your teeth often enough. When you do brush your teeth, it aggravates the gums and causes them to bleed. Try brushing after each meal!
Also, it may be indicative of gingivitis, which has nothing to do with age. Have it checked out by your dentist.

Diet, hygiene, unfortunately. I suffer from the same problem. Some people are also more prone than others, depends on the amount of saliva you produce, etc.
Try and brush more frequently, floss, rinse your mouth with salt. Keep it as clean of an environment as possible. Trapped food causes the bleeding/swelling. Gingivitis.

bleeding gums mean you have gingivitis, and that is usually caused because you don't floss, or you don't brush your teeth correctly. See your dentist for treatment.

Yes, I know you are like me, "but floss make them bleed" you will say...yeah..only until you get in the habit of flossing every day.
make sure you are using only a SOFT toothbrush. If you are using a hard one, throw it away.

You are probably brushing too hard. Also it could be the things you eat. You should drink a lot of water, most people don't.
Gentle brushing for a long period of time is better than HARD AND FAST

i was at the dentist yesterday. my gums bled when they flossed me. its gingivitis. If you are having trouble flossing regularly, AT LEAST use listerine mouth wash twice a day. This helps to kill some of the gingivitis.

Gingivitis and periodontal disease do not discriminate over age.
You MUST brush twice a day, and that means really brush, not just shake the toothbrush at you teeth to scare the plaque away!!
And you MUST Floss at least once a day, without fail.
If you are really serious, get yourself a Sonicare tooth brush, they are the BEST!!
Ignore me, and you'll have false teeth by the time you are 30!!

Bleeding gums is mainly due to inadequate plaque removal from the teeth at the gum line, which in turn comes from bacterial infection.. This will lead to a condition called gingivitis, or inflamed gums. If plaque is not removed through regular brushing and dental appointments, it will harden into what is known as tartar. Ultimately, this will lead to increased bleeding and a more advanced form of gum and jawbone disease known as periodontitis.
It is important to follow the instructions from your dentist in order to maintain healthy gums. Improper brushing and flossing technique may actually irritate or traumatize the gum tissue. If gum bleeding persists, it may be a sign of serious medical disorders such as leukemia, bleeding disorders, platelet disorders.
Common Causes:
* Gingivitis from inadequate plaque removal
* Periodontitis(advanced form of gingivitis)
* Toothbrush abrasion, improper flossing
* Infection, which can be either tooth or gum-related
* Scurvy (vitamin C deficiency)
* Vitamin K deficiency
* Hormonal changes
* Chemical irritants such as Aspirin
I think a good cleaning at the dentist office its what you need right now, and after that, maintain it nice and clean flossing itI had the same problem like you.

You might have a gum disease or you are using the wrong toothbrush. It is best to go to your dentist for a check up and he will be able to tell you what is wrong. If your gums are sore, trying gargle salt water after you brushed your teeth.

Dont worry about your age.
There are many problems.
Most commen, people use too hard a tooth brush, thinking its best to get rid of plaque.
Change your toothbrush to a soft or medium.
The BEST place is to go to your dentist. They are the proffesionals. x
