i use both, you shouldnt use just one thing because tampons can cause tss if used to often or for to long. pads can be uncomptorble so use them if your in the house and then tampons when you go out. but i prefer tampons there more comptorble.

for me, any thing external is better than use internal things ... but i think tampons are not bad ... although i never used them before ... use what ever you feel more comfortable with ...

I wear both. I wear a tampon because its just cleaner and I wear a thin every day pad in case there is a bit if leaking. Tampons are the best thing ever created

I only use pads because I find tampons to be uncomfortable, especially for light days. Also, tampons have been known to cause (in rare cases) Mastitis and toxic shock syndrome.
Unless you need to swim, go with the pads because they pose no risk to your body.

definally tampons- much cleaner- and less bulky- I feel like I have a mini diaper on with pads- And the extra thin tiny panty liners always seem to leak. And the thicker one's make me feel selfconscious.Like people can see them through tight pants.

I've always used pads, because I can't quite figure out tampons yet! :) Even though I will admit they kinda ruin the week of my period because they're so messy. I'm only being honest here. I almost wish my mom had started me off on tampons though because then I might not be having such a hard time with the emotional breakdowns. :)

I use tampons during the day, but pads at night. Leaving a tampon in for more than 8 hours and/or overnight can put you at a higher risk for Toxic Shock Syndrome. (the leaflet is included in most tampon boxes) Other than that, it's mostly a personal preference---pads are too messy for me, although those new ones with the wipes attached are great! You don't have to change a tampon as often and they work better when your flow is heavy. Whatever you decide to use, find a brand that you like and works well for your flow--I like Kotex tampons and the new Always stay-clean ultra-thin pads with wings. Good luck :)

I have to use both, because I leak with tampons no matter what.
But what I really recommend is the Diva Cup (www.divacup.com). It saves you money and you can keep it in for up to twelve hours. It also feels a little more natural because you're letting your body bleed. Sure, it seems a little archaic, and I occassionally use a tampon, but I like it better overall.

It depends on what feels more comfortable to you. I usually use pads. Even through pads are a bit bulky, tampons freak me out. You read about toxic shock syndrome as a result of leaving your tampon in to long. When it is to long? So I stick to pads.
