You need to ask your mom. If you are asking it here then you are too young to worry about it. Your mom or maybe an aunt or someone you feel comfortable talking to can answer that for you. Even your dad can help. This type of question is better answered by someone you know.

Menstuating is the medical term for having your period. Confusing eh? Doctors tend to use this word instead of periods in formal settings.
There are loads of other phrases used in different places for the same thing
The curse - old fashioned and supposedly relating to God cursing women for eating from the tree of knowledge thereby cursing us all to have periods as punishment (load of rubbish!)
Monthly visitor - polite way of saying you have your period )'I have my monthly visitor)
Aunt Flow - Another subtle way of saying your period (flow) is around at the moment.
Time of the month - Men say this to explain why women are in a bad mood (they cannot comprehend that sometimes THEY put us in a bad mood and it isn't always about hormones!)
Rag week - also an old fashioned term which relates to before tampons or towels were used. Women would use rags as towels and rinse them out to reuse them (nice!). Not to be confused with Rag week at colleges where students generally go about raising money for charities.
Hope this helps!

Menstruation is actually just one part, or phase, in a monthly cycle. Each month, a woman's reproductive system repeats a regular pattern of events:
Phase One. The first phase of the menstrual cycle is the three to seven days of menstruation. The first day of menstruation is the first day of the cycle.
Phase Two. Toward the end of menstruation, one of the ovaries begins to prepare an egg (or ovum) for release into one of the fallopian tubes. The endometrium, or lining of the uterus, begins to thicken at the same time, preparing to nourish the egg if it is fertilized.
Phase Three. Around day 14 of a 28-day cycle, ovulation occurs: a ripened egg leaves the ovary and enters the fallopian tube.
Phase Four. The endometrium continues to thicken as the egg moves down the fallopian tube toward the uterus. If the egg isn't fertilized by a sperm cell, it disintegrates; the endometrium is not needed and is shed from the uterus. Menstruation and a new cycle begin again.
The average menstrual cycle is 28 days long, for older girls and women, but a cycle from 19 to 35 days is normal. In most cases, a young girl's cycle is not regular at first.
