put a tampon in and call it a day, just make sure it doesn't fall out and make sure you don't have a heavy flow

yes but you have to be very careful. I always do this and nothing has ever happen to me. but you have to we tampons that are maxi if not wear pads that are maxi either way you get the same best results.Good Luck and have a happy period!

Think you need to sort out the problem with why you dont want to use a tampon. Try the smallest one first. It really sholdnt hurt, but to go swimming in a pool, you really need to use them. even if you dont like them normally, just use them to swim with!! take it out immediately after. Good luck!

luvz mimi
please if you want to go swimming were only a tampon or want until your period is over.
the reason is its very unhygienic to do that. not just for you but the people that are also swimming with you.

Go swim, and have fun BUT please do wear a tampon! Anyone who wears pads or nothing at all in a public pool well its not right! It's not sanitary! You could end up with a trail of blood behind you as well as a blood soaked swimsuit if you wear nothing at all, and the other swimmers would not appreciate that! Pads just fall apart in the water and they don't stop blood from getting in the pool! Just think of all the diseases that end up in the water because of people getting blood in the pool! and that water comes in contact with your mouth or any cuts on your body! Use a tampon and everything will be just fine! Don't want to wear a tampon then out of respect for others wait until your period is over.

You can swim in the pool, lake or beach, but please wear a tampon. If you don't wear one or worse even you wear a pad, the pads will sewll up like a diaper and start to break apart and if u weat nothing, then ur swimsuit will get all bloody not to mention the WATER! If you're scared to wear a tampon try wearing one at home before you go swimming, like a trial phase. that way when summer comes or u go swimming which ever may come first you'll be ready.

It's only a few days you have your period. Just dont, go in the pool. bettyk

I was wondering the same thing actually. I don't really want to wear a tampon either. Don't worry though. We can get through this together!! lol

You can certainly swim when you have your period. As long as you get in directly after using the bathroom, and then use the bathroom as soon as possible after exiting. I don't know what it is, but, the water of the pool seems to stop you from bleeding while in there, like being in the shower. I don't recommend using a tampon....it probably won't be pretty getting rid of it after it's has soaked up pool water.

How would you feel if you swim in a pool contaminated with somebody else's blood? Not to mention the embarrasment you would put yourself through in from of your friend once the blood starts to show through your pretty bikini bottom and runs down your legs. I would say that it is ok to swim while you are on your period but darling, do yourself and all of us a favor... wear the darn tampon! It's only for a couple of days.
Enjoy your summer!

Yes you can, if you know how to use a tampon then it's okay.

crazykat
yup. that's why they make tampons. but i would be aware to change it as soon as you're done. i took a bath with one in and later that night, went to pull it out, and the string broke.

Jason
yep, I've swam with girls who were on their period and it didnt bother me, just don't swim in shark infested waters LOL

Well, for me, I discovered that when I'm submerged in a bathtub or pool, my period stops flowing immediately. I have NO idea why that happens, but it does, and I've never had to worry about tampons. By the way, there are no such things as watertight tampons. Tried it once, and the tampon absorbed so much water it gave me a hell of a time pulling it out.

Sheniqua Moniqua
yeah its totally fine just wear a tampon thats all
good luck

Only if you wear a tampon do you swim in a pool, for obvious reasons. What's the problem with wearing a tampon, millions of women do? That way, you can go swimming any time.

No!

You must use a tampon. Then you'll be ok.

Do not go swimming without one...your bathing suit will stain and you CAN'T swim with a pad on (it absorbs water and falls apart!)

Yeah, you can. Back in High School, my gym teacher said that it was good to swim on your period because it calmed your uterus and stopped the cramps. I do suggest to wear a tampon.

Maria
Yes. Wear a tampon.
