Laura B	ok well... i suggest use a mirror and stand with ur legs further than shoulder width apart so you can.. see... it's the middle hole and i'd say get a brand called lilets for ur first go... they're really small and pretty cheap. when my mum showed me how to use them she told me to cover it in vaseline so it'll go in a bit easier. and don't worry if it feels really odd for your first go, it'll get better :) oh... and just as a tip... try to keep it in for an hour or so for your first go, and don't try to make it last a whole school day. jane	congratulations on upgrading to tampons!! i think tampax pearl is the best. they go in more easily and are more comfortable than other kinds ive tried. and it goes in the middle hole. theres the one you pee out of and then the one you poo out of. its in between those. dont worry you'll find it! good luck! tamrn02	Platex or other tampon with a plastic applicator is more comfortable. The ones with cardboard are much more uncomfortable but are better for the environment. There's only one hole it will fit in....you can't screw it up. There are pictured directions in the box. They also have thinner ones for teens. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

sarah s	tampon pearl i've foudn are the easiest to insert. there is only one hole so don't worry you won't mess up...unless you shove it up your butt. but you'd have to be mental impaired. sounds gross but honestly just shove it up there. it you are apprehensive aobut it as i was and its not inserted far enough it hurts a lot more and will probably drip on a heavy-ish day. good luck and they work wonders, they do. make sure you still use pads at night though and to change your tampon at least after 6 hours. good luck sweety. You don't want to be caught short in a foreign country where you can't speak the language and have to try to look for it... R a i n a ♥	I use O.B. tampons, because I find it easier to insert a tampon without an applicator, but you may think otherwise. You can get free samples of tampons over the internet to try different brands, so keep searching. Tampax is another good brand, but I find the tampons don't fully fit inside of me...x.x Also, the tampon is inserted into the vagina. mhowie01	I'd advise just trying different brands -- hunt around online for free samples. I wouldn't recommend OB, though, 'cause those are the ones without applicators (meaning they're the hardest to get in and probably not that comfortable). As for actually getting it in, you need to get more familiar with yourself. Sometime when you're in the shower, just stick a finger down there and hunt around ... when you find a spot toward the back where you can get your finger to go all the way in, kinda angled toward your back, you've found it. Just feel around with the tampon and kinda push and it will sirta go in itself. (For me it does) If it does not feel good when you sit or walk, take it out and try to put a new one in again. ~GG~	I would suggest purchasing tampons with a plastic applicator, not cardboard, since it is easier for your first time. Also, choose the smallest size you can find, to make it easier and less stressful for you. There are directions right in the tampon box, and they tell you exactly what to do. Trying to Figure Myself Out	There are three holes down there...the urethra, which is really small - a tampon will not fit in there, the vagina, and the anus. The tampon goes into your vagina, the bigger hole that's in front of your anus (where you poop). You might want to try using a mirror to look down there to get to know your body and figure it out more easily. Since you're only 13 and still young, I would recommend buying junior sized tampons...I know you can get them from Tampax and maybe from Playtex as well. In that case, the Playtex ones would probably be the best. Junior sized tampons are skinnier than normal ones, so you will have less difficulty inserting them. OB is a good brand but most don't have the applicator, and for a first time user, it would be best if you got a brand with an applicator (Playtex or Tampax). They come with detailed instructions inside the box, and the brands have websites with detailed instructions as well. On Youtube, you can even find videos of people demonstrating on their hands how to insert them! Just remember, it's difficult and frustrating at first for many people, so don't give up!
