just try trimming it next time a little longer (not so close to the skin). I wouldn't try totally going bald at this time-- shaving, even just around the general area is WAYYYYYY itchy. If you do shave, use tons of moisturizer right after and for seveaal days following.
in the meantime, you could put a little conditioner or moisturizer in the pubic area--might make the hair it a little softer; in the higher areas, of course.

what you do will depend on your skin and if its sensitive.
mine is too sensitive to use waxes and shaving for me leaves rashes.
i do trim and if you trim too close to the skin it can be prickly.
so i trim them to 1cm in length where they are short but fold nicely with your curves.
they are short enough not to bother a man but long enough where you are not uncomfortable.

shaving is cool-instead of just the trim where you encounter these types of problems try shaving it off with cream and a razor (use moisturizer too)

if you do not want to shave, since it will be itchy when that grows back and if you do not shave often, than just trim slightly, not too much because it does not feel very nice, the itchy and pokey feeling

I would use nair hair remover for the bikini area and then use scissors to trim the remainder...if you trim too short it will be a little prickly, so maybe leave it a little longer next time. As it grows back it will stop being so itchy and pokey. Sorta a pain I know. Shaving is ok but it can sometimes cause irritation and razor bumps which itch very badly...so if you can get a hair removal cream made for that area at the drugstore and try that.

Shaving creates it's own problems. I'd suggest you stick with trimming. Lots of people trim.

Most trim.
You have discovered the very unfortunate part of trimming pubes.
The very best way to stay groomed and avoid discomfort is to wax.

yeah many people shave. But that also itches when the hair is growing back. you could also consider waxing, however that hurts like hell, but you get nice smooth pubes for a good few weeks. I would say shaving is your best bet. Do it in the shower or bathtub with plenty of shave foam, and afterward put a nice mild lotion on it (Bikini Zone, in most drugstores, is especially good) so you can reduce the itching.

They're probably pokey and itchy because you trimmed them REALLY low, like stubble low. If you don't trim that low, the hair won't be prickly. Trim it for awhile before you start shaving and waxing.

it happens esspecially if the person happens to shave, the best this is to wax, if you are tough enough.

Lots of people shave and lots of people don't. It is a personal preference.
As to the itching....put some conditioner on the hair, let set and rinse, this should make your hair softer. If the hair bothers you I'd just shave it all off, which will itch too but after you keep doing it will eventually stop. Remember to moisturize after shaving.

Um shaving will itch a lot more than trimming. But yes, many people shave (I do) and wax. Don't do something just because other people do it though. Do what you feel comfortable with.

it's cleaner in my opinion (such as during menstral time) to just shave. I prefer it myself and it is annoying occasionally but I like it just fine.

unless you're a hairy helga just leave it alone. if you are super hairy and need to trim it will be picky unless you wax it or shave it but those methods of hair removal come with problems also.

If you trim, you have to leave it a little longer, or shave it and keep it shaved. The little short hairs are what make it prickley.

Some let it grow, others trim, and others shave it off. If you do either of the last two, you will have stubble of some kind.
You could go for a wax which would keep the issue at bay a little longer too. Though at 14 yrs of age, I don't really think this should be much of a problem for you and it's not really something you should be concerned with at this time.

Personally, I hate shaving that area. I have sensitive skin, so it doesn't work for me. But I found that trimming works much better...and I never had a problem with pokey ends. I'd say keep trying and see if it gets better...then if it doesn't, you might want to consider shaving.
