you're acting like this is such a life-changing thing. It's not.

You do the same exact things, with the addition of being worried you're gonna get a bloodstain on whatever you're wearing.

I am 12 years old, and I get my period. It really isnt comfortable, just it isnt like really uncomfortable either.I use "always" brand clean wipes. If makes you feel fresher and you dont even need to take a shower until later in the day when you usually take your showers! you should wait till uve had your 6th period before using tampons, and at night (or during the day) if you have really bad cramps, take a Tylenol and jump in a hot shower/bath. Or you could even get a wash cloth wet with hot water, and hold it on the area there is the most pain. Thats what I do and it reeeaaaalllllyyy works!!!!you really dont have to change what foods you eat, its just your period, not having a baby. you should eat Chocolate, but not too much. There is a chemical in chocolate that works with the iron in our blood, so if you eat chocolate, but watch how much you eat of it, you are doing a great thing for your body when you have your period! it actually helps!!!. Good luck!!! the firt time i started, it sucked!!!!

Eat fresh fruit, fresh leafy vegetables, lean red meat, lean white meat, omega 3 fatty oil wild salmon, herring, cod, haddock, egg whites, yogurt, cheese, ice cream, almonds, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts, cashews, sesame seeds, black sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds with the shells, whole grains, whole wheat, oats and wild rice.

Eat extra firm tofu and drink Soy milk to regulate estrogen levels to prevent pain, strain, cramps, bloating, discomfort and gas.

Stretch your muscles before and after exercising to prevent pain, strain, sprains and torn tendons, exercise at least 40 minutes a day and drink two glasses of milk because drinking milk after working out builds lean, firm, solid, healthy well toned muscles fast.

Don't smok, don't drink alcohol, don't do drugs and don't take diet pills because that will damage your body, the damage being permenant and stunt your growth.

Don't have sex until you're at least 21 years old otherwise you will stunt your growth.

well i dont know if you already have your period.
but they say its best to shower everyday to reassure cleanliness.
and if your are using pads then you need
to change it everytime you use the restroom
and same with tampons.
i consider tampons to be more comfortable for me.
but for beginners pads are the best.
but if you use tampons be careful
for TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome).
because there is a possibilty it may affect your
immune system and in some cases women have died from it.
i don't want to talk you out of using tampons.
because most girls do.
but im just letting you know there is a risk of getting TSS.
and as for being comfortable, taking a few Midols or Pamprins will work.
it decreases the pain of menstrual cramps as well as bloating and fatigue.
and for sleeping i would suggest the special thicker pads because it helps leaking while you are asleep.
and doing a little exercise also helps the pain of cramps.
maybe a walk around the block.
or playing a quick game of basketball.
just something that would be considered light exercise.
and if you do take medicine for cramps and the cramps don't go away after a few hours and this happens almost every period you have
then you need to see a doctor because there
are certain conditions that enable the pain and if not controlled then there a different side effects.
and as for food i'm not sure if there are certain foods you should eat but when a girl is on her period they usually start to crave certain types of foods.
and for most girls they crave chocolate while menstruating.
just try to keep your body highly hydrated.
hope this helps darlinggg.

Well, you should shower at least once a day, maybe two. Foods: you can eat anything you want but I reccommend staying away from sugary foods as they aren't all that healthy and you will feel better if you don't eat them. Make sure you are changing your pads every three to four hourse depending on your flow. I don't reccommend using tampons until your period becomes regular. To relieve any cramps, try warm baths, hot water bottles, exercise, and Advil/midol. Check out http://www.beinggirl.com for more info. on your period. It is a great website for all girls any age.

Well it can be a bit stressful
but you really have nothing to worry about.
As soon as you hit the shower your period stops but then when you get out it starts you see the water triggers some sense so it will stop.
SHower every day it could smell some times
your normal but you should eat alittle healthier but not much of a difference.
ITS NORMAL
GO ON THROUGH YOUR NORMAL BUSSINESS

Well first of all invest in some midol...LOL never run out!!!!! Midol stops pretty much all the pains of a period for me...minus the mood swings. You should shower daily, ive always been told never to take baths it can make your cramps worse. You can eat pretty much anything you want, and you probably will LOL alot of girls get really hungry and eat everything in sight. I happen to be the opposite i eat less on my period. Just remember midol midol midol as long as you have this most of your period cramps and pains will go away!

Well its really no different than normal everyday life. Shower daily. Even twice a day is good. I don't really think there are certain foods to eat that you normally don't just because of your period. To make your self more comfortable were clothes that are comfy.

Be prepared for cramps, you may have them. Have tampons and pads ready, because you don't know which you will like better.
Shower daily
Eat whatever you want
Maybe look into midol or pamprin for cramps and you may want a hot water bottle or heating pad if you do have cramps.
It's really not that bad

You should shower at least once a day, regardless if you are on your period or not. If you bleed a lot during the night and need to take a shower in the morning to clean up that might be a good ead.

In order to make yourself more comfortable I would say have dark clothing that is a little big or can expand. You can wear these on your period. Going on your period will make you swell and put on 5 pounds of water weight so the baggy clothes are good for that.

Don't take a bath on your period or the blood will mix with the water.

Get the super absorbant pads. Don't buy generic pads. Bite the bullet and get the name brand. I recommend Stayfree thins. They are the best I have ever used. Make sure when you buy pads to make sure to notice the absorbancy level. It is good to get one package of super heavy and one that is normal.

Chocolate makes me feel better on my period but I don't know why. I like to drink cola on my period because it seams to clean me out...the same is true for coffee and tea. I am not sure why or if that is a good idea but that has helped me.

Make sure while you are on your period to keep your emotions in check because during pms I tend to say mean things that I don't mean. Think before you speak!

Don't freak out and don't believe everything you hear. Shower in the morning and in the evening. If you work out, you should shower after that. You can go swimming, just wear a tampon. You can eat anything you want, your cycle is your right! LOL If you get serious cramps, try some warm tea and a warm towel on your tummy. It may be a myth, but it works for me. It's always good to stay consious of yourself. You may need to carry some baby wipes to freshen your self every now and them, and carry extra pads or tampons, so that you can change every few hours.

Welcome to womanhood, honey! This is your chance to get to know your body. If this sis your first cycle, the next few may not come at the same time each month, if at all. Some days may be lighter, some may be heavier, but please, make sure that you begin your annual pap with your obgyn.

I wish you well, young lady!

some great tips are:
For cramps;
-if you have cramps, use a hotwater bottle, it will help to relax the muscles in your body.
-drink warm water...yes, just straight warm water, no caffine or sugar because it tends to make them worse!

Showering;
-before you hop into the shower, prepare some toilet paper balls that way it doesnt drip down your leg. (3, then throw them in the toilet when your done)
-Showering twice a day is great, one once you wake up, and then right before you go to bed. if you feel that you need to take a shower, then go a head. your the one who needs to be comfortable, right?
-also take warm showers, the relax the muscles as well.

Foods:
-You can pretty much eat anything, eat foods that are rich in iron because girls especially are low in iron (any greens like spinach, etc)
-BANNANAS are awesome! for some people it actually does help to make the pain go away
-try your best to drink less caffine if you can

Making yourself comfortable:
-try not to think about it so much, for myself, if i think about it too much, then it hurts even more!
-change your pad at least 2-4 times
-keep moving: walk around, go outside, take in the fresh air. it will help you to feel more relaxed
-be comfortable, and dress comfortably!!!

best of luck
happy period!!!
lol!

Hey

You should really shower every day. You probaply will feel the need to shower every day anyway as you may feel a bit icky. When i'm on my period i get urged to eat everything in sight, expecially chocolate. But, i tend to curb the cravings by eating grapes, and strawberries. I excerise alot when im on my period to, i find it helps to ease the cramps. I also use my hot water bottle on my back to ease the back pain!

You can shower as often or as little as you want during your period, it won't make a difference. To help with cramps you can soak in a hot bath, or try a heating pad. if you don't have a heating pad fill a pop bottle up with really hot water and put that on your belly. My Mom and Granny always told me cramps are worse if your feet are cold, so wear socks when you are on your period. It sounds silly, I know, but it helps. You can always try pamprin or Motrin, stuff like that. Wear loose fitting clothes when you are bloated, and stay away from things that will make you gassy (beans, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.) GOOD LUCK!!!

You should shower every day (regardless of your period), and you can eat what ever you want:) I suggest lots of water and healthy foods. You should stay away from caffiene as it can cause more sever cramps:)
Hot baths, Ibuprophen and a heating pad can help with period discomfort

whoah there are a lot of tips.
shower once a day when you have your period - you'll feel a lot more fresh.
always carry extra pads with you when you have your period - just in case.
never never never go swimming when you have your period.
if you do go swimming during your period - learn how to use a tampon.
when you're cautious - bring extra underwear with you in a bag along with a couple of pads.
periods usually last from three to five days.
if you have any questions or conerns during your period - first ask your parents, then ask your doctor.
if you have cramps, bloating, etc. - take 'midol' with parents permission.

your mom can always help you - she experiences periods, too.
my mom helps me a lot and your mom can help you too with your periods.

any other help you need?
