Dont be scared, tampons are notorious for causing "dryness" unless you are flowing medium to hard. just use a pad on your light days, and at night. the more you use them, the easier it will get to relax and let them do the work. Never leave them in for more than 4 hours.

it probably wasn't wet enough. try to relax when taking it out and pull it out the same way you put it in, towards your lower back. it may hurt a little trying to get it out but you can do it!

were you on your period? was it a heavy flow? what kind of tampon did you use?
i prefer the plastic applicators. they go in easier.
tampons suck out all the natural fluids, blood and lubrications. if i use a heavy/super tampon and my flow isnt as heavy as i think, then it is a bit uncomfortable to remove.
perhaps you should try the lites, untl you get comfortable, and only use them during a heavy flow, such as the first few days of your period.
after fifteen years, i still have times where i put one it, and its just not quite right, and ill remove it and start all over with a new one.

Don't pull straight down. pull the string toward the front of your body, it should come out easy, but if your not on your period its not a good idea to put it in anyway, and if its a little tough leave it in a little longer.

It takes some time to get it right. I am guessing you are not too old, so I would suggest using pads until you get the hang of it. When I was younger I had problems at first, and you probably didn't do anything wrong, it may have been too big.

You have to relax when you pull a tampon out. If you tense up, your vaginal muscles will tense up as well, which makes a tampon VERY hard to get out.
Take some deep breathes when you are putting it in and when you are taking it out.
Don't be scared of tampons. Just make sure to change them every 4-6 hours. I never wear one to bed, I wear a pad. I had 3 friends get toxic shock syndrome from sleeping over night with tampons in!

it was still dry thats why u coudnt get it out, make sure you use the correct size for you flow when its light use the smallest size and for a heavy flow use a bigger one always use the lowest absorbency tampon that suits your flow, know that it is safe to go to bed withthe tampn on just put a fresh one before going to bed and remember to remove it first thing in the morning for more information on how to use a tampon go to www.lil-lets.co.za hope this helps

An hour is a short time to wear a tampon. It was probably still really dry which made it harder to pull out.

well try relaxing your muscles down there, if u clench, it will hold the tampon in, it can be scary, but when u pull it out, relax and open your muscles, and it will come right out =]
good luck

You didn't do anything wrong. Sometimes you don't shed as much and the tampon will be dry with a little discoloration. I remember the first time I did it...actually I couldn't. Then tried a couple years later. But don't worry, the woman's opening is made to expand when in childbearing.
Also, usually you wear a tampon for about 4-8 hours.
Try out different types of tampons...not all are made for everyone. Soft applicators are so much better than those cardboard ones...(do they still have those anyway?)

lol It's okay. Similar thing happened to me. You may not have put it in right in the first place, or since it was your first time, your muscles were tense and it was harder to pull out. Relax next time, but know that that's totally normal.

I have found the the type of tampon really makes a difference. I would recommend trying another types and brands, perhaps you need a different applicator will help with insertion.
IAs for removal it really is best to be sitting and to make sure the tampon is somewhat "full" (it's important to use the right size -- super, regular, lite for your flow) this may be way it was difficult to remove.

you actaully didnt do anything wrong. putting on a tampon is at your own comfort. when you pull it out to change or to go to sleep, you have to be relaxed. your whole body has to be relaxed in order to have it easily glide out. =] i took me awhile too

when they're dry they hurt to pull out. It is okay to wear it to bed as long as you change it in the morning. Next time don't put it in and then try to take it back out so soon, and it won't be so hard to take out and it won't hurt so much. Dont' be afriad of them though!

remember to change is every coulpe of hours, but you did everything correct. you have to use your fingers, it wont come out on its own..if it did i would kind of defeat the purpose of putting it in tin the first place

Don't worry! It's okay, it happens to all of us sooner or later. Continue to use them, but schedule an appointment with your doctor. They can actually SHOW you how to do it. I mean, i could explain it, but it's not the same as having them help you. Also, they make adult-sized tampons. Try getting tampons from your doctor that are sized for us teenagers. Don't panic, i had the same thing happen. They also suggested not pushing it in as far... hope i helped. Good luck, and Happy New Year!!!

your flow wasnt heavy enough to absorb the tampon. if the tampon is not fully absorbed, it will hurt to pull out. and since you only left it in for an hour, that was not enough time.
