with waxing the redness and bumps usually go away in an hour and stay smooth longer or use shaving cream and a brand new razor if you do it last after you already washed your hair and body your skin and hair gets softer making it easier to shave so yeah against the way of hair growth ;) oh yeah and if you waax after awhile it will grow in less and less then not at all but that wont happen till your old like 55 prob

Um, I don't think it's very easy to get that smooth, bumpless look without waxing. That's the only way to keep the hair from growing right back, because waxing pulls hair out from the root under the surface of the skin, and shaving only cuts the hair off at the surface, without actually removing it. Plus, the skin in the groin region is pretty sensitive anyway, and so I reckon you'd have to be King Gillette himself come back from the dead to do such a good job without bumps, redness, or even ingrown hairs. Come to that, King Gillette was probably wise enough just to get waxed.
I think people start removing hair from various parts of their bodies as soon as it starts growing, so the age when people start is different for everyone, depending on when they hit puberty, what hair they remove, and even if they care or not. Plus, some girls' parents (MINE) are ignoramuses and don't realize that by not letting their daughters start to shave when they first start to become hirstute in obvious areas, like the legs, they're leaving them in for teasing at school; hence, some wretched little kids (like I WAS) don't start shaving right away, but have to wait until high school or older.
The good thing is that if that happens, you can rip off your dad's razor, and just let him suffer the consequences next time he tries to use it. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
...ha? Anyway. Ahem.

I used to shave, but its not really good.
Get full bikini brazilian wax. It takes off ALL the hair.
Plus, it lasts a long time and is super smooth!
If you really wanna shave, use a proper shaving cream and razor not disposable ones.
I use venus and Gillette shaving cream. But overall, i prefer waxing

Make sure that your using enough shaving cream to reduce the redness and bumps. I doubt you can do anything to keep the hair from growing back for a longer time; getting chill bumps will make hair grow faster, though.
Some start shaving as young as 6th grade (11-12 years old), and then again, some don't ever shave at all.
If you're doing it for guys, you should know that some like the hair and some dont...

They wax, although I can't imagine why one would want to. It'll hurt like hell at first and then itch like hell as the hair grows back.

Do not shave "down there" you are supposed to wax that is how you get that smooth feel and it doesn't grow back for a month....as in brazilian wax....go to a beautician and get it done you will get addicted to it, makes you feel way more sexy.

Nair is a great way to obtain smoothness. I tried this before and I really like the results. I suggest using it while in the shower. I prefer to do this during the summer months. Keeps u a lot fresher for this summer days. I also suggest to wear white panties u may feel irritated there if u use other colors the 1st time around.

How many shaved genitals have you seem in real life that are so "smooth"? Chances are, you are looking at photoshop...
Use Gentle shaving creams (like soap) and moisturizers without perfumes. Also, careful you don't use too strong of a fabric softener.
If you have dark hair, this will be even harder for you.

I think it is generally normal for a girl to start shaving the same year as they get their period. That all just depends on their mothers and how comfortable they are with the "growing-up" phase. To get the really nice smooth shave, you don't want a shave. You want to go and get a professional wax at a beauty salon somewhere in town. This may be difficult if you are too young to drive legally, and can't convince your mother to take you. Here in my town its about 28 for a full brazilian. If shaving is all you have make sure you use a high-quality razor and shaving cream. The new 5 blade venus razors work wonders, but you might have to go over the areas multiple times in different directions to make sure you get all of the little stubble out of the way. Make sure you get it all, because the next time it comes in handy can be awkward if you missed a patch ;P

im 15 and i started a year ago maybe?
and idk how to make it all smooth! i have so much trouble with that. nair doesnt work for me either. it actually like burned my skin haha. so hopefully you will get some good answers so i can get advice too!
so i was thinking about it and decided to add more of my info down that i have gathered.
if you wait a couple days or like a week inbetween it is SOO much easier to shave. and get a new razor. but it still sucks and doesnt go all nice. i also heard that if you shave with conditionair it shaves better and if you put deordorant on after some redness goes away.

okay....the really smoothness comes from waxing....it hurts like hell though. If you would like to be pretty smooth down there without red pumps from a regular shaver.....then us an electric shaver....it works great....good luck : )

i shave everything "down there" and i started when i was 15 taking everything off. i think it all depends on the blade and if you put moisterizer and cooling products on it afterwards.

Shaving is done to be hygienic.
It's just good part of grooming.
If you want to avoid the redness, soap up while you're taking a shower, and try and use a NEW BLADE. I cannot stress this enough. It will also make things much easier and smoother.
I was 15 when I started shaving, pretty much when it started to grow consistently.

They don't! Just gotta keep doing it to help "deaden" the skin. Other than that...heck, it's not worth it! Just trim that area with a pair of scissors.

I've been shaving down there for about a year and I've found only one effective way to do it. shave at night before you go to bed. If you've never shaved down there before and It's like a jungle... you'll probably want to take some small scissors and cut the hairs down some...
you have to:
1) get in the shower and wash everything else (hair & skin) before shaving down there.
2) then you have to wash ur pubes with soap
3) then put shaving cream on and shave DOWNWARDS, as in towards your toes, or WITH the grain.
4) then you rinse
5) then you wash with soap again and rins it off and put on more shaving cream (i know it sounds like we're using alot of shaving cream but it doesn't take much)
6) the shave again (gently) against the grain. remember that the hair is very coarse down there and if it feels like your damaging your skin... you probably are
7) wash again with soap, rinse and PAT dry (dont rub)
8) put baby lotion on and DO NOT sleep in panties because it will rub your bikini line and make it bumpy and itchy.
good luck! ( and for God's sake dont use a disposable razor)
