I am very angry with her but her mom (my sister) is happy for her! She had her period when she was 11 and she is very educated on this topic. I told her that it was wrong and she said that she doesnt care and she will continue to do it.

Lo Lo G	Well............. Back in the olden day's, girls were having babies by the time they were 13. It's not bad, but definatly not good either! She has to be taught exactly what could happen. (reputation, babies, aids, std's,etc) But becareful how you approach it. She has to know there is someone out there that she turn to, and talk to! Just because it happened once, doesn't mean she will continue to do it. UNLESS she is told she is unworthy of such a situation. Like I tell my daughter... 12 years old. There are goals... The goal for boys is to get in your pants. And the goal as a girl is not to let them get there. If they get there.... who is the winner and who is the loser. She definatly understands that concept.. Along with... I told if the boy asks if he could have sex with her... tell him it's okay. But first............... he has to ask your daddy, and if he says yes.. lol Then he deserves to be nocked out. lol So handle it with care, educate her of the possiblities, and be an open ear for her. Penny	My question is - if your neice is open enough to tell you that she lost her virginity, did she ever ask you questions before she actually had sex? For example, did she tell you she was thinking about it? Sex at 12 is absolutely unexcusable!!!!!! Sex at 14 is unexcuseable!!!!!! Even 16, if you ask me. If this is really your neice, you need to step up to the plate and sit her down and have a nice LONG talk with her!!!!! She should be having slumber parties, going out with her girlfriends, watching t.v and listening to music. NOT HAVING SEX!!!!!!!

roxiecat4200	It's bad emotionally, she is obviously not ready to make such grown up decisions. It sounds as though she trusts you if she is coming to you with such information. Please make sure she is aware of what she is getting into. Make sure she understands how to protect herself and that even though she has had sex doesnt' mean she needs to continue having sex. You may want to be very graphic about STD's and pregnancy, so that she thinks twice before having sex again.

nexolan	I would say that is very bad. She's still a child, probably in middle school. Some girls haven't even hit puberty yet at this age. The odds of survival if she gets pregnant are not in her favor or the baby's. Let's hope that the boy was in fact a boy around her age at least.

Horsetrainer89	That makes me really sad. I don't understand some children these days. You are going to have to talk with her and see if she wants to go to counseling. Also, talk with your sister and see what she thinks about it. If she doesn't care, you need to refresh her mind of all the terrible things that could happen to her poor little girl. Make sure you keep your niece's trust though. Explain to her that she can talk to you about anything, if there is a boy pressuring her, an older man touching her inappropriately. Really reach in your heart and tell this poor girl that sex is a special thing and if done at the wrong time with the wrong person, a lot of unwanted consequences may happen. And plainly, in black and white, tell her she is way, way too young to even be thinking about participating in such things. Good luck.
