This could be, but cheack with your doctor. And would all those guys grow up. Are you so unmature that you taunt women about something they can't help. I mean seriously.

GUYS, YOU DON'T NEED TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION.
Call the doctor - you might end up talking to a nurse practitioner who can advise you after talking to you. You probably need to go see the doc and have him/her give you something else.

...unless an obgyn responds here I don't know why you would not just GO TO YOUR DOCTOR. This is a health issue & your health is too important to take guesses from this site....please go get checked - you might be fine, or you may be taking the offensive on a serious problem.

this is normal when you start birth control...within the first few months it can get a bit out of control. plus being sick can effect how heavy or light your period is, in addition having missed one pill so early on starting the pill (even if you are two months in) can make some crazy changes. hasent your gyno told you about break threw bleeding??? i suggest calling her to ease your mind and to learn about more possiblities.

Yeah my girlfriend had a similar problem. I would say talk to your doc about it you may need to change up your dosage. But needless to say birth control is not an exact science so changes in your body can cause irregularity in your cycle.

Why don't you forget the pill and try the nuva ring? I had somewhat of your problem and the doctor prescribed the nuva ring. I love it and I have never had any problems with it. Plus you don't ever forget to take it because you only have to insert one once a month! All you have to do is make a monthly reminder. I put mine on my cell phone and I write it down. Good luck!!

Don't ask us because the don't have the correct answers on such a health issue. Does your insurance have a nurse you can call. Tell your doc you have to come in as soon as possible for the reasons you state hear.

You need to be on any new pill for 3-6 months b4 your cycle evens out. Some women, like me, are never regular. I have 3 periods every two months. I only have about 17 days before my new period starts. You are just very irregular right now. If you feel lightheaded or your gums are really pale, very light pink, or white, then you are losing too much iron/blood and you should seek medical attention. Keep an eye on it and contact your obgyn if it doesn't clear up soon.

First of all you need to discuss this with your OB/GYN. You were on antibiotics, which cause your birth control to be ineffective. You missed a pill...if you have sex this month you better use another form of protection. I think that the birth control is too strong for your system. This happened to my sister. She would bleed and bleed and bleed.
I've always used Lo Ovral 28. This is a low dose of birth control and it is effective. I would call your doctor, tell him or her what is going on and ask if you can be put on a lower dose of birth control. I hope this helps you out. Good luck!

I think the best answer/advice anyone can give you here is to call your GYN first thing Monday morning.
It could be any number of things, and without seeing a physician, you won't have a clear answer.

Don't worry you're not alone hun. My best friend had the same thing, she suffered from random periods which often lasted for a long time rather than the one week. How old are you and how long have you been having periods? The younger you are the more random and unusual your periods are but they soon settle into a routine. If you've had your periods for a while, like my friend, just nip to the doctors. It sounds like an unbalance of your hormones, the pill is a good option as it balances out your hormones and starts to put your periods into a routine. bare in mind that antibotics always disturb hormones therefore resulting in unusual periods.

You may be experiencing break-thru bleeding. That is very common when you are on the pill and take antibiotics. It's happened to me a few times. The first time it happened, I didn't know what it was and was pretty scared. It's nothing serious, just a real nuisance. You may want to call your doctor just to be certain. What the other posts said is true about the effectiveness. You definitely need to use a backup until the next cycle.

this is normal. it si called break-through bleeding, usually no more than spotting and usually occurs int he first 2-3 months of using new birth control. give it another month, if it does not go away, then go see your doc to try a different kind, they all have slightly different levels/mixes of hormones...

Antibiotics make birth control less effective. This could be the reason, as basically it is like your body thinks you stopped taking your pills when you started taking your antibiotics and therefore your period begins. That said, I used to take ortho Tri-Cyclen lo, and because of the low dose of hormones it contains I would start bleeding if I just didn't take my pill at exactly the same time every day, let alone if I missed one. If it doesn't even out after taking it awhile, or you don't want to wait, you need to switch to a stronger birth control pill with a higher hormone dose.
