im on my second day too how nice is that. but what kind of tampons are you using? tampax pearl are great for "first time users." they have the plastic applicator so they glide right into place and they have a grip design thing so you kow where to hold it. coat it in ky gelly and it should work out perfectly. i would try using that brand and when you try putting it in just stand straight up, no poses or any thing. also you dont really aim all that far back. or at least i dont.

First off, Relax. Try squatting to put it in. Or you can try to use a little lube on the top of it to ease insertion.

When you're in water, your period doesn't come out by the way.
But make sure to put it all the way up there,up until the part where you hold it,and insert.
Pull the plastic thing out that you insert it with, and toss it out.
change it every 6 hours, and don't swim with a tampon in.
Swim with a thin pad, just to get the spots that may come, cause your actual flow, won't come out when you're in the water.
make sure you don't swim with a tampon in,that can cause all sorts of problems .. e.g Itching IN THERE!
NOT A PLEASANT STATE TO BE IN,WHEN YOUR WITH YOUR FRIENDS,AND DESPERATELY NEED TO Itch YOUR INSIDES!!!-_-

You need to relax to put a tampon on... the more you try, the dryer you get and the tenser you get. I sometimes have to wet my lips for the tampon to slide in. You can also try dabbing a cotton ball with cooking oil on the surrounding area to help ease it in.

Use some KY jelly or vasaline and rub it on the applicator of your tampon as well as the opening of your vagina. Make sure you are using the brand "Tampax Pearl" they are the easiest to glide in. Also be sure not to use Jumbo tampons or super absorbent. Those tend to be larger in width and therefore harder to get in.

ok, first of all, crying isn't going to do any good, it'll just make it worse...
secondly, you need to be relaxed to put a tampon in...otherwise your mussles contract and...well it's a no-go.
here's what you do..
1. calm down
2.make sure that you don't already have a tampon in you. (two tampons will not fit...lol)
3.calm down again
4. do what you normally do (CALMLY!)

okay its really not that hard. I couldn't get one in for so long and then one day i just did it. Make sure you have one of the tampons thats plastic and not cardboard because its 10000 times easier. Just read the instrustions in the box...they worked for me. And if you still can't get it in try putting vasoline all over the tampon and that should work :] Good luck ...lol

First you need to RELAX. I take it you are a virgin, and many virgins can't wear tampons because their 'hymen' doesn't have a hole large enough. Try this method for insertion since you say you can't get one in (I presume you have one foot on the toilet or a chair, and the other on the floor). LIe on your bed and do a 'relaxation' exercise, starting with your feet and tensing and relaxing each muscle group all the way to your head. Have a towel under your bottom, folded, to catch any blood. Once you are totally relaxed, try 'clenching' the muscles between your legs. Do this at least ten times, then 'relax' down there, totally, lift one leg and leave the other extended and try to insert the tampon. If that doesn't work, you won't be able to go swimming ... I'm sorry, but 'such is the life of a young WOMAN.' Good luck, and whether you have a tampon in or not (and you should CHANGE tampons right before you go swimming and right after for hygiene's sake and your own good health), have FUN ad Discovery Cove!

first i can say is relax cas then it'll be easier to put in. some people sit on the toilet or someput one leg up on the tiolet seat and try to insert it. when inserting it make sure your close to the back of your vagina. then slowly put it in and then as soon as your fingers touch your vagina (the hole) then pull the plastic out. make sure the plastic doesnt go out of reach. and dont pull on the string or else youll also pull out the tampon. just calm down and try diff positions. youll find a way to work. my first time i was scared and i really wanted to go swimming . dont panic you'll find a way. also read the back of the box for more detail =]

Ask mom, older sister, use kotex. I don't think it is mandatory you swim. You can always see a obgyn about your problem.

RELAX!
When you are nervous, your vaginal muscles contract hence the difficulty.Just leave it for now, calm down, quit stressing about it and take a few deep breaths before the next time you try it.

#2. try going to a trusted female, who has started their period, for advice
#3. dont worry. so you dont get to swim! you can always go swimming another time when you dont have your period.
Good luck. Best wishes, a concerned answerer :-)

Try not to work yourself up else you won't get it in because you will automatically tense up. I used to have a go every morning to see if I could do it, but if I couldn't, I'd try again the next day so as not to get wound up. I used to raise one leg on the bath and slowly insert it tilting it towards the back, if there is an applicator, it makes it easier as you slide it through and leave the applicator behind (put it in bin, not toilet) if there's no applictor, you'll have to use your fingers more. Push it up leaving the string dangling. Then as a test, pull your pants up and sit down, if you can feel the tampon then it isn't in properly and you'll have to adjust, I still do that now. Don't leave it in longer than 8 hours and don't sleep in them. Good luck, you'll get there I promise x

well you could always try using a smaller tampon...i had the same problem and my mom baught me smaller tampons, like the onesyou use on your lite days...and they are so comfortable you cant tell there in there and they are easy to get in. u just have to switch them a little more often then you normally would. and definately use the plastic ones, they are way way wayyyy more comfortable and easier to get in.
hope this helps...good luck and have fun on your trip!! ;)

calm down its simple enough
1. take it out of the wrapper first
okay now see the rounded end? (the opposite of where the string is hanging)
2. insert the rounded to about an inch from the bottom(important you do this first before proceeding) and if you feel around the length of the tampon you'll feel two ends that stick out horizontally
3. put your fingers on top of the two horizontally sticking out parts (they arnt big so feel for sure you'll find it) and push down and VOILA!!
all you'll see is the string (if youve done it right) and you'll have the part that doesnt go in. if you've ended up with the bottom part of the cotton tampon and the strig sticking out its going to be really uncomfortable so try again but this time when you insert (before pushing down the horizontal parts) put it in farther and you should be okay. to remove it just pull on the strig and dont do it really fast or it might hurt a bit.
tip- try not to use the normal kind (they have smaller ones for your age group) lol i remember going through the same thing your going through i used the ones with cardboard on the inside for the first time (before those pretty glide things became popular lol) hurt like a mutha
(if you are have alot of trouble take a look on the box it should have instructions with pictures so you can easily follow along)

-it might be the wrong size... it could've been too big.
-you should be totally relaxed when putting it in. its easier for the tampon to go in when you don't have tense muscles.
-have you used tampons before?
if so, what are you doing now, that you haven't done before when putting the tampon on?
-try using a mirror to know & see what your doing.
-try using Vaseline.
-read the instructions.
-maybe even ask your mom, or doctor [female!] to help you.
i hope any of these helped.

lol, i hope i can get best answer!

look at yourself "down there" in the mirror. its weird but you gotsta! see the BIG opening, with the thing that looks like a scrunched up flower in there. the tampon goes further back than that. tilt the tampon back a little, stick the end in, and push the applicator thing

Try a light OB tampon (it's smaller than junior size and easier to find!). They are the smallest (and still very effective [the only one designed by a female gynecologist]) tampons, and like 1/5th the size of a normal one. It'll fit, it just doesn't have an applicator.
ETA: Also, despite what others say, lube will not help, and will make the tampon less effective. If you cannot get an OB tampon in, I strongly suggest you see a gynecologist or at least a doctor if you can, you may have a serious problem. The aim better and wrong hole comments are just stupid too, I think you'd know that! Using something like cooking oil can't be safe. Yes, relax, try standing and sitting, see if that helps. Reading the instructions can help if you're confused, that's how I learned. Also, if you can't get that in and don't have time to go to the doctor first (eek), unless your period is REALLY heavy, you can get away without one if you're in the water the whole or most of the time. Goodluck!

Okay I just tried a tampon for the first time yesterday lol.
I was really scared and you think to yourself, "how the heck does it go in the hole". Well trust me it does. You have to relax if you are scared you will tense and it will make it harder. If i can get it in you can too. So get into a comfortable position (sit with legs apart on toilet, crouch with knees bent, or put one foot on the bathtub or toilet. With your other hand you can pull apart your skin so you can get it in easy. This may be weird but if you can't seem to get it in the hole use a small mirror. So now you know where the whole is, take a deep breath and push it in a little at a time, just relax. It won't hurt you. Then when your fingers touch the outside of your body press the end and the tampon will go out, then remove the plastic and throw it away. It may feel weird at first, because it did to me but it is just because you aren't used to it. You will be so excited after you get it in, i was like jumping up and down lol.
I hope i helped if you need anything else you can email me (:
