I'm sorry but I think the only way to stop it is to take a pill. I'm not sure, but I think you might need a perscription, idk though! Good luck, I feel bad because my first period I had no cramps so idk!

put a warm towel on your lower abdomen. Or you can buy these heat rapes at a store that stay warm for up to 8 hours, buy one of those, they work great i've tried them before. Or you can get midol or pamprin those work pretty good.. i wouldn't recommend the pamprin cause they aren't coated and taste aweful. I know sometimes when i get bad cramps i use icy hot too, that seems to work for a little while; i will use it right after i take a pain killer just to ease the pain before the medicine kicks in. Well try those, best of luck

Although you won't feel up to it, exercise is highly effective because it increases the production of endorphins which are the body's natural painkillers. Thirty minutes of light jogging or power walking will decrease cramps. Another effective method is drinking either Chamomile or Ginger tea which has anti-spasmodic and anti-inflamatory properties. The teas natural sedative, calming benefits help decrease cramping and pain. Good luck!

Ibuprofen or Advil works great for cramps. Make sure you take it with food or it might upset your stomach.

Try Aleve every 4hours the first day (or the recommended dosage on the bottle) and eat the things that you crave (sweets, etc). Relax yourself as well. Do some exercise too.

My period is the exact same way. It is actually kind of crazy... I have cramps the first and last day of my period and I'm so tired I just want to lay in bed until its over. I also couldn't go to the doctor (I don't have insurance) so I started using Progesterone cream. You can get it at any health food store. The health food specialist will tell you exactly how to use it. It helps with fatigue and the cramps. You will be amazed at how different your period is next month!!!
Hope this helps

It is a known fact that if you take the pill it helps with the cramping. I would also suggest that if you can't go to the Dr. to go to your local healthfood store or Wholefoods store. Ask a female clerk for so help since you have an adversion to talking to men or male dr. Ask the clerk for an over the counter vitamin or mineral that you can take during that time of the month that will help with the cramps.

That is pretty typical. There are plenty of over the counter medicines, but Ibuprofen (Motrin) is probably the best. Other options are Midol or Pamprin. Excercise also helps a lot, if you can get a really good 30 minutes workout in, you'll be surprised how much better you feel. Some people find a hot pat helps too.

Midol works very well.
You take 2 pills every 6 hours.
In fact, it gets rid of my cramps completely.

Unfortunately, you kind of just have to deal with it. You can try Ibuprofen or midol, and maybe they'll work for you. Your period may change as time goes by.

There's not really anything that will make your body stop doing what it does naturally, but you can treat the symptoms.
Try a warm bath or a heating pad/hot water bottle. For the pain, try Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil, etc.). Gentle stretching exercises can help sometimes, too. Pampering yourself could help, too--if anything it can help take your mind off of how you're feeling, especially if you focus on relaxation and release.

When you start feeling the cramps, take some Aspirin or pain Reliever medicine, and take it every few hours as recommended. This should lesson the pain

I do this and it works pretty well. First of all, don't drink anything cold, it seems to make the cramping worse. I take either Midol or Motrin, usually 600 to 800 mgs. I drink a cup of hot coffee or tea and either hug my cat or or my hotpad. Whatever will stay in my lap the longest :) Drink plenty of water (you should anyways) the week leading up to your period so that you don't retain as much water.. I hope you feel better!
