It could be a cyst - although that normally wouldn't itch. Just five minutes embarrassment at your gp surgery (and you could ask to see a lady) would solve this problem that is driving you crazy day after day. Please do something about it.

I'm gonna say exactly what you don't want to hear.
Your too embarrassed to talk to your mum, all any one can do here is guess. Swallow your pride go to the GP your only 15 that's too young to die of something they can probably sort out with little or no problem, doctor has seen it all before and worse so don't worry about it

If you're worried, the only thing you can do is go to the doctors...we can't tell you what's wrong or what you can do about it.
Ask for a female doctor, and just grit your teeth and do it.

Basically with anything lumpy or anything with a rash can be a combination of things. Yes you should go to your doctors to find out and yes they have seen it all before, you wont be the first girl to have to do this.
Firstly i know this might sound personnel, but if you are have sexual intercourse, is your partner being rough or are using things and experimenting maybe and it's caused by friction.
Also you should change tampons at least every three hours, you know that don't you and you should not sleep with a tampon in, bad idea. Can cause you problems.
Hope you get it sorted anyway...

It really could be just a mosqueto bite, about 5 years ago I had something similar so I went to see a lady Dr. She had no idea what it was but told me it was nothing to worry about, it disappeared eventually. I had been covered in Mos bites but down below it came out more like a bruise. You really should go and get it checked out though to be on the safe side

It sounds like a small abscess or fistula (basically a boil) probably caused by an ingrowing hair. It's quite common - people get them on other parts of their body too. Go to the doctor (a female one) - she'll have seen it all before.
It might take a course of antibiotics to get rid of it, or it might clear up on it's own. Don't mess with it or you'll make it worse.
Don't be scared of going to the doctor - that's what she's there for!

When I was about your age, I had the same thing come up in the same area. It was a boil. At first it was just painful to the touch. Eventually, it got painful to even walk or move. It was getting bigger and bigger and the pain got more and more unbearable. I was not sexually active and I am and was a clean person so I could not understand it. Like you, I did not want to tell my mom or go to the doctor so I took it as long as I could. Finally, it got so painful I could not even function to walk, or even sleep. I did end up having to go to the doctor. He ended up taking an intrument and opening it and pus went everywhere. I had already began having other symtoms and running fever. He did a biopsy of it and it came back that I had staph among other infections. I had to go in the hospital as I had let the staph get into my bloodstream and my fever got so high I was in danger. If I would have went to the dr. earlier, it would not have gotten this far. I had to go into the hospital and get IV antibiotics and I almost died from the infection. They thought I was going to die at first because of the sepsis I had set up. It took several weeks of IV antibiotics to get better and I was still sick for weeks later. If I would have just went to the dr earlier, I could prevented this. I cannot believe I let my embarrassment almost cost me my life. If I would have waited even a little longer, I would have died. You might just have an ingrown hair that can cause this same thing but it could also be more serious. You have nothing to be ashamed of. The doctor is held to a code of confidence, they cannot even tell what you tell them to your parents. Please go on to the dr., it could mean the difference of life or death. You do not have to do something wrong to cause this. It just happens sometimes.

Well, from the sound of it it's a large and very nasty spot - probably one that has turned into a boil. From what you say it sounds as if it is around your pubic region, rather than actually in your vagina? If it is then it's probably nothing to worry about and will either go in a week or maybe a little more, or you could try treating it like a spot and taking a sterilized pin to it to pop it.
HOWEVER... I am NOT a Dr and neither is anyone else on here, nor can we see exactly what you're talking about, so I'd really suggest a visit to your GP. Don't be embarrassed, they see lady bits every day - and if you feel really bad ask to see a woman Dr. Good luck, and try not to worry.

And, if you didn't have all these answers saying go to see a GP, where would you go for advice then?
A friend once took the best part of 3 hours to explain 'her problem' to me, which was that 'ALL of her hair had suddenly fallen out' (it happened 3 years before we met).
When she had done, I said, ''Yes, I know. It's why you wear wigs and that hat."
How did I know? I just made an educated guess ~ after seeing the wig being moved into place once. Did I think any the less / worse of her? Nope. She was still a lovely human being ~ with a problem. And there was nothing new in that.

First, there is nothing wrong with changing a tampon only once or twice a day OR wearing one overnight, people like to freak out and scream "You''' get TSS!", but I have been doing it for 35 years and never got TSS. Second, you need to get over the embarrassment and tell mom to take you to the doctor. That's all there is to it. If there is some kind of infection, you can't make it go away by wishing it to go away, you need to be treated by the doctor. If you just can't stand the thought of going to the doctor, then sorry, I'm afraid it's just not going to get better, and it might get worse. Being a woman means you have to put up with a lot of potentially embarrassing things,so get used to it.

It could be thrush or maybe if your lucky something like a spot or an ingrown hair... however it could be something nasty like an SDI so if you have been having sex i would edge you so much to go to see a nurse cos it could be really serious people can die from SDI's but I'm going to just assume that it isn't an SDI you can get creams and stuff from pharmacist or boots for thrush so go and try them first and if it hasn't gone away then i'm afraid all i have to say is go see a nurse/doctor ask the receptionist for a female one. If they have seen like 50 or more women parts everyday i really doubt they will think any diffrent of you , your just another patient to them.

Or even search the internet for some answers before deciding whether to see a doctor or not. good luck. ps being a woman u get used to strangers looking at you, i mean doctors, us women have a few examinations in our lifetime.

oh dont worry hun, sounds to me like either an ingrowing hair, (which can be exactly as described, ive had tons.), or a cyst.
ive had loads of those too, and with a very minor op under local anaesthetic was removed, unfortunaely im prone to them. theres nothing to be embarrased about tho.
Apocrine glands make a form of sweat, and are found in the armpits, around the nipples, around the pubic areas and the buttocks. In some people they are very prone to becoming infected, resulting in recurrent abscesses in these areas.
Sebaceous glands are found wherever hairs are found. They produce a white oily substance called sebum, and if squeezed this material can be pushed out. I don't advise squeezing them though. It hurts and may cause them to become infected. White heads on the face are enlarged sebaceous glands. Sebaceous cysts, which may occur anywhere, are cysts caused by a blockage of the sebaceous gland forcing the sebum to build up into a cyst instead of being released normally on the the surface of the skin. For some reason, when the hairs produced by the hair follicles are fine and invisible, the sebaceous glands connected to the follicle are often large, causing a cyst which as you describe looks bruised.

sounds to me like you have a boil. its pretty uncomfy i know, and can be pretty painful. its sort of the same as having a zit! a load of yuk that needs to come out. the thing with a boil is that its bigger and often deeper so you cant squeeze it the same as a spot. dont prod at it because you might infect it. the best way to bring it to a head is to apply a hot flannel, as hot as you can tolerate, better than getting into a hot bath because its only a small area you are applying the heat to rather than stepping into boiling water!!!
try not to worry about it, its normal, its embarrassing so not everyone will admit to having them but it is very common. you might have caught a hair in you knicker elastic or something. its not a dirty thing and you might be one of the unfortunate folk who are prone to them.
hope this helps xx

I think that what you have going on "down below" is WAAAAY more "ewww" than seeing a GP.
If you don't get it checked out right away you'll get another one and then your vagina will seal itself shut.
True story.

it could just be a boil type thing that will go at some point, however, you don't say how old u are.how can i put this if u are sexually active you will have to go and see a female gp.now you can do this at a well womens clinic, you know where you go and get contraceptives or your own gp.they are bound by confidentiality laws and judge each case as to wether they involve your mum under the age of sixteen over 16 they can not break that confidentiality not even if your parents enquire wether you were at the doctors they cant say AT ALL.i am a nurse and i think you should go get checke out properly to stop u worrying.please go or pluck up the courage to speak to mum.

It doesn't sound serious, but if it is still there in a week's time, go to your GP or ask to see the nurse.
Nurses see those bits all the time and they don't even think about it.
If you want to be a grown up - you have to start taking responsibility for your own health and sometimes this might mean stepping outside your comfort zone.

I had exactly the same thing and was too embarrassed to see the doctor.. if it doesnt go within a couple of weeks tho maybe you should just have a phone appt with your doc.. it wont be quite so embarrasing then.. Good luck !
