Sounds like the hair is just growing back. It should last only a couple days at its worst. She should wear no panties and long skirts if she can, so there won't be chaffing. She should be cautious applying anything to her crotch area as it could cause a yeast imbalance and infection. This would include any lotions or powders that might be suggested. If she does try a lotion, she should be careful not to put too much so that it enters the vagina.
Hope that helps!

Use a moisturiser but unfortunately she will either have to stick it out until it grows back or do what a lot of women these days do and just keep shaving it, it only itches when it's growing back.

The first time you shave its going to be very itchy, and she's probably scratching which will cause it to be irritated. She needs to wait about a week to shave again, in the meantime keep the skin soft with babyoil to prevent ingrown hairs. Next time she shaves she needs to soak in warm water and use a brand new razor (a womens razor, with more than two blades) and shaving cream.

You are going to get a lot of different answers on this...
Some will say to let her soak in the tub in cool water, some will say lotions...when you use a razor (electric or straight) it takes the body one to two weks to get used to it. Tons of info online about shaving.
When I shave mine, I run a stick of deoderant over the skin after I shave. Believe it or not, it works. Everyone is different, have her try a few of the suggestions and see what works for her!
Good Luck!

You've not said whether she used a disposable razor. I used to do that and it was always irritated as that's not what they're designed for. I bought a shaver specifically for the sensitive areas. It makes all the difference.

Calamine should help with the irritation short term but the best way is to let it grow back, tell her to keep an eye out for ingrown hairs though! I tend to just trim fairly short to keep it under control, perhaps next time that would be a better idea.

Pubic Hair Removal - Shaving Pubic Hair
For pubic hair removal, shaving is most utilized. Whether you're a male or female, get a fresh razor and follow these steps to avoid in-grown hairs and infections which feel itchy and appear as painful bumps.
Sit in a chair with your feet up above your waist and legs spread apart.
Trim your Pubic Hair
To make this process easier, trim the genital area before applying the razor! You'll save blades this way. Electric razors, clippers (with safety guards) or scissors work well. To get a closer cut and avoid unwanted nicks, pull the hair up then trim away.
Soaking
Take a long, warm bath beforehand. This softens coarse pubic hair and makes it easier to shave and style.
Lathering
Apply shaving cream or gel to lather the pubic area. A thin layer of petroleum jelly will help with a closer shave. Soap doesn't make the best lather for pubic shaving. Note that some people may have allergic reactions to certain shaving cream.
Shaving
There are many different ways to style your pubic hair. Think about it before you start and be as creative as you desire. It is recommended to shave the same way the hair grows. Avoid constantly stroking the same area during the shave because this may irritate the skin. Aim for two to three short strokes. Do stretch the skin to reach the difficult hairy spots.
Attention First-Timers! The pubic area is sensitive and may take time to adjust to the razor. Shaving once a week is enough for your first month. Don't worry about a smooth shave the first month.
Exfoliating (Removing dead skin)
It's important to clean your skin after shaving. The best way is with a "loofa sponge" and your normal body soap. Due to sensitivity of this area, rub lightly with the sponge to prevent skin irritation. This will help remove anything that may clog the pores.
Moisturizing
Rinse, dry and moisturize the freshly shaven pubic area. Baby oil and Aloe Vera work well. It's best to avoid moisturizers that contain fragrances and colors, since this may cause irritation. You may also want to use baby powder for comfort.
Hygienic Maintenance
Wash your shaven genitals on a daily basis. This helps remove unwanted oils and sweat. Moisturize and powder the area daily to avoid irritation. If you keep the hair short, you'll avoid stubbles, which causes itching. Try to wear cotton underwear and to stay away from tight fitting cloths pants. The lack of air circulation and friction of tight cloths may lead to in-grown hairs.
A Few Warnings
When the genital hair begins to grow back, itching often occurs. Red bumps and ingrown hair may appear. To relieve the irritation, you can apply Cortisone cream. If these symptoms cause you stress or don't go away, see a doctor.
People who are allergic and react to some shaving creams. This area seems to have heightened sensitivity. Furthermore, if it does react, your natural sweat and the natural abrasion this area receives will most likely make your life miserable (temporarily).
Use hypoallergenic shaving creams or consider avoiding shaving all together.
Some women have noted genital sensitivity during menstruation. If shaving becomes uncomfortable for women during their periods, they should time pubic shaving around their menstruation cycle
.
If shaving does irritate your skin, waxing may not cause as much irritation or in-grown hairs.

Sugar it. The regrowth is like baby-hair. Shaving is a cycle of hell. You get more hairs back than you cut off.

A tip I picked up on here actually!
Tell her, that next time she shaves, to use very warm water, and immediately after shaving, to rinse of with cold water. Something to do with the pores, but it really prevents itchiness when it grows back!

if she has razor bumps and it's itchy u may want to consider desetin or some other form of baby ointment (for diaper Rash) because the bumps and itching are from the heat of her panties and pants pressing on the smooth skin as they try to regrow... that's what my gyno recommended for me... if she chooses to shave it again (which i doubt she will since of this incident) tell her to use baby oil after shaving it cuts down on the bumps and itching...

After a month or so of shaving, it won't be as sensitive anymore, and not itch. Just like plucking your eyebrows, it's not as bad once you've been doing it a while.

If you are going to shave downstairs then either keep on doing it regularly or don't do it at all. Went out with a girl who shaved because I said I fancied it but couldn't meet her for a week - she complained of same thing and it was like making love to a porcupine. Tell her to make sure her boyfriend doesn't slip out ..........OUCH!!!!!

Is there anything else you would like to post about your daughter on Yahoo? I don't think this is revealing/embarrassing enough for her, or irresponsible enough on your part. If you had any brain in your head, you would erase this question.
