this is very normal, every girl is different, so some mature faster than others. Some girls have gotten their periods much earlier than that. There is no need to worry, just make sure you have some pads for her. And if she does have stomach cramps I find that 2 Tylenol help a whole lot.

I started my period when I was 8. Yeah, I had premature puberty. It's normal for her to start early. It seems okay. I wouldn't worry if I were you. But if you must, go to a doctor.

That's a perfectly acceptable age. I was 11. Nowadays if there are reasonable grounds for it, young girls who are suffering from premature puberty can be given injections, I think, to hold it off, but your daughter is a decent age to start her period. Plus it can be distressing for girls if they are expecting their period but it doesn't come until they are in the midst of their teenage years. Your daughter will have the advantage of getting to know how it feels to have a period earlier on in life, and at least her periods will regulate sooner than if she was in her teenage years, when it could be potentially more embarrassing for her if she has irregular periods which might make her feel self-conscious when planning to go to sleepovers with friends, swimming etc. At least your daughter will know for sure.
Plus, look on the positive side - she's started her period in the school holidays. Imagine how distressing it would've been for her to start whilst she was at school!
Hope your daughter's coping fine! I remember crying all day when I started mine - not sure why, it just made me feel a little bit like I'd been pushed into 'womanhood' (how naive - that comes later :)) too soon! So make sure she's not feeling too delicate, look after her, and all will be fine in no time at all :) x

I myself have got my period at the age of 11
And not to mention that my periods are painless since then (though very rarely I feel pain, but nothing too extreme)
So, no worries, it's completely normal.

First time doesn't need to be painful at all, and beside many women never suffer from pms, so hopefully your little girl is one of the lucky one.

Yes. I started mine when I was 10 years old. 11 is a good age. There are some girls who start as early as 8. Its normal to have no pain, cuz I didn't with my first one. Just make sure she understands that this is all normal. Maybe give her some information about her period. That way she can understand what it is. She will probably get cramps when her cycle is more normal.

i was also 11 years old when i started mine (i remember it well as mum wasn't expecting it to happen then so had nothing in) i had no pain at all, i used to get period pains after about a year of starting mine once i became regular (once a month) then it wasn't agony, just ached a little.
As i recall there wasn't loads of blood at first and it wasn't heavy and only lasted a couple of days then probably went nearly 6 weeks before my next one arrived.

Hey! Well.......actually it is qouite normal to start at her age....because of the stuff in our food latly is making girls hormones act while they r younger so it is very normal. Also i have friends who have started and they never get cramps whatso ever! They just jave blood in there underware or when they go pee. It is very normal. I wouldn't worry....but if you still feel worried give a call to the doctor. But i think it is perfectly normal.
